Fox (network) says NO to a senior citizen Super Bowl halftime show

You can't please everyone, there's no reason to try too hard. You can't use bands only 20-somethings know about, but if you use something older people know of 20-somethings whine like babies. You can't use rap, or R&B, or country. You can't use a DJ. All you really can use is rock. They've already done U2. Who knows. Oh, who cares? I watch it for a game.

A lady gaga halftime would certainly be interesting. For a pop artist she's not half bad. The show would end up being a distraction.

Beyonce would be acceptable but her music doesn't really get yah pumped.

For hiphop outkast, jay-z, or lil wayne would work. I don't really like lil wayne but he would have the star power to maike things interesting.

I would like to see just a good alt rock band and some sort of hip hop artist.

I could see how somebody wouldn't be into her music, but she is really a very good stage performer. Something like the superbowl halftime show could use some vibrant energy to keep those asses in the seats and the people at home interested

A half-time show "game" between retired players would be fun though.

Why? So we can see John Elway throw a floater to Jerry Rice lightly jogging 5 yards away from him and have Rod Woodson tackle him by bracing his hands upon light contact and nudging him to call the plays dead?

Most of the suggestions so far in this thread will never happen. It will be a band/artist that appeals to the masses. It doesn't matter if any of us singularly thinks that group sucks if the majority of people enjoy them. Look for somebody like Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, etc.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
