New Mock draft with no-trade scenario...

2nd - Damian Williams WR/RS - harp on our bad history all you want but the truth is he's pretty good. It's silly to think that Colbert and Jarrett somehow make him worse. He's also a decent returner which will help a lot.

Alt. Carlos Dunlap - he's pretty much the only DE that could potentially be good value. Alex Carrington is pretty much Tyler Brayton and Corey Wooton isn't really good value unless we get him in the bottom of the 2nd by trading down.

3rd - Austin Lane - DE solid speed rusher with good measurables. He'll be a nice 3rd down option just like Brown in his rookie year.

Alt. Mardy Gilyard WR/RS - I like him a lot better than Jacoby Ford because he's much more elusive. I watched Ford a lot at school and he's very fast but not that agile. If you're a car guy picture Gilyard as a Lotus Elise and Ford as GT500 mustang.

4th - Rennie Curran - OLB - Rennie Curran is the boss, quite simply if you don't like this pick ur ghey.

6th - Armanti Edwards QB/WR/RB - This pick would be for depth only so I don't mind putting priority on Edwards. I think he could possibly go in the 5th though.

6thc - Travis Goethel - OLB - one of the very, very few guys that can play the strong side in this year's draft.

6thc - David Reed WR - solid WR for this pick.

7th - Joe Hawley C - good depth for center. He's versatile too.

7thc - Kyle Williams WR - Our Mr. Irrelevant will be the rising WR prospect from Arizona.

As always I'd love some feedback.

Very good mock. I have D-Will-part2 with our first pick as well. We will most definately take a QB in this draft, so that is the only big problem I see with your mock. I don't think we take 3 WRs either.. so I would sub one of the WRs for a QB.. other than that, great mock.

Armanti Edwards is not an NFL Qb, and the Panthers themselves said that they scouted him as a WR prospect.

if he is not an NFL Qb then why are so many teams having him run through QB drills at his private workouts? it seems facts disagree with you.

You will never see Armanti Edwards as a QB in the NFL.. at 5'11" 181lbs.. I can tell you with 100% certainty that he is nothing more than a wildcat QB, and a WR.

I am sorry but "AUSTEN LANE" SUCKS

In his career at Murray State he has 6 tackles and 1 interception.

Besides that

- We don't need 4 wide outs

- We already have 2 centers on the roster

- We only need 1 OLB.

they're aren't 4 wide outs because Gilyard is an alt. pick. There is only a possible combination of 3. Because both Alts. will take place.

And I think that we should bring in a lot of competition at WR. The only guy that is 100% not going to be cut. We have Jarrett who hasn't shown much but will probably stick around. Then we have Kenny Moore, Charley Martin, and the Jets ST gunner. Drafting 3 more WR would give us a pool of 8 to choose 5 from. Having to cut a combination of Martin, Moore, the Jet's gunner, or a 6th/7th round pick isn't a huge loss.

including Armanti Edwards who will never be a QB in the NFL other than a wildcat QB is 4

good point. I think Edwards initially won't be able to make an impact at any position, but he can come into certain packages as a QB/WR/RB.

He'd be nice to have as an emergency option along with a nice little play threat.

I don't think the wildcat offense will ever take a hold in the NFL, but I think having a mobile QB on the team might.
