Charlotte Bobcats rise all thanks to Larry Brown

Larry Brown, more than anyone, is the man to be thanked for picking up the pieces of this franchise, making smart decisions and trades (even unpopular ones) and coaching these players into playing like a team. Larry Brown is here because of Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan is here because of his North Carolina roots.

Why was Bob Johnson here?

To make money. Plain and simple. I have no problem with a man trying to make money.

But let's give credit where credit is due. Bob Johnson could very easily go down as one of the most inept NBA owners in NBA history. Michael Jordan and Larry Brown are the 2 men who deserve the credit for the Bobcats' recent success. While Bobcat Johnson was trying to sell out and get the F out of Dodge as fast as possible, MJ and LB quietly went about their business of putting together a contender.

KT?

I don't know about predictable. It states the truth. Larry Brown, who is here because Michael Jordan is here (Larry's words not mine), is the man who has made the trades and acquisitions and furthermore he is the head coach. He deserves the credit 100% for this cherry-poppin playoff trip.

But, But, But, Micheal is only here because of Saint Bob Johnson. The great hero of Charlotte who brought basketball back only because he felt so bad about the Hornets leaving. So Bob Johnson is the one to thank for Larry Brown!

Bob Johnson's not a bad guy, he just didn't understand this market.

Agreed. I don't think Bob is a bad guy by any means whatsoever. I think he expected his investment in the Bobcats to be an instant success without having to put in a lot of work or really know and understand how to be successful in the NBA marketplace.

    • Yeah, I was about to say I hope he's doing okay health-wise because he's not looking good in that pic.
    • Honestly, I dont  think he should be on the hot seat yet. A bad start to next year, then yes. Despite our mistakes on play calling this past season, we played better than anticipated overall. Bryce showed improvement and maturity (although still not nowhere close to our expectations). Better record and 2-15 to 5-12 to 8-9. Despite what we feel the stats dont lie we are improving by 3 wins a year. Could 11-6 be our expectation. That's a high bar but at the rate we are going, thats what its looking like. We all want to see a 5-12 to a 13-4 record but we are methodically moving up. Success doesnt happen overnight (well in most cases).  IMO we are struggling mostly on the defensive end. LB and edge are our biggest weakness. I see Bryce making improvements (even though I was a Bryce hater) next year. Biggest concern is LT on offense. How to fix this? We need a big name edge or to trade up and get a big name edge or LB and pick up one in FA and draft one. Also if in the 3rd we can pick up a TE. Dont know if Sanders is the answer or Tremble (even though I love Trembles blocking and power after the catch). If these two can get their footwork together they would be great. Maybe all they need is a better TE coach. And if Brooks can stay healthy and be the back we thought he could be, man that would be great
    • Dumbly blaming the best player on the team for everything.
