John Fox/Marty Hurneys Creation

Hurney and Fox have always talked about building thru the draft. Now most of our roster consist of players they handpicked, hardly down to anyone they inherited, besides the gift of steve smith from Seifert.

Fox for whatever reason, could be several really, has always favored experience over talent on the field. That strategy obviously hasnt panned out the way he would like it to have or has it?. Now it seems as if the young guns are going to be given a shot at as John Fox really is "ALL IN" now with this being his final year on his contract.Alot of of these younger players he has acquired mostly thru the draft are going to have to step it up and play more of a major role for the panthers this year. If enough of them can sucseed, they'll not only save his job but potentially their own. I say that because if another coach comes in here he's going to put his stamp on this team and will have no loyalties to anyone. The first round picks they have drafted are already making their impact, now its time for the later round picks to step it up and show they have learned from those who have gone before them. I've called for his head in the past, but for the sake of seeing my team do good this year, I'm rooting for you Fox and all those young guns who are finally getting their chance to shine. But if you failed in developing these draft picks you have built your current roster on, good riddance next year.

could be that he is using this year as an audition for his next job. everyone will get to see how he does with a young team who has just seen all it's older vets get the boot. more than likely that will happen in whatever situation he lands in.

i think that fox is a good coach, and i think he will do good with this young group, and guide them to the playoffs.

he did the exact same thing with the 2002 panthers, although that team did have a few more vets.

We will certianly have to fill some depth with some vets, after the june 1st cuts and the smoke clears from the draft. I am actually pretty excited about the prospect of this young team.If they do have a strong showing this year fox/hurney will probably be locked up for a long time.If Matt Moore continues his play from last year and we get him 1 more solid target at reciever thru the draft, the offense has potential to be deadly.

The defense is a much bigger question mark, because were relying on alot more young players to step it up.It can be done, we have the potential but its going to be a while before we know if these guys can get the job done. But right now I'm feeling pretty damn good about this team, better than alot of others i'm sure.

i'm confused why we let ma'ake and hollis both go. we only have one defensive tackle i'd consider being heavy enough to be called a run stuffer. didn't we learn our lesson last year when ma'ake went down? we need another big body up front. that's my biggest defensive concern. if we start to get run all over like the start of last season, it could ruin our whole year.

Fox had probably the best DL in the NFL in 2002. Even not knowing what Pep could do.....the line looked strong. Fox doesn't have a DL in 2010 and that is the bread and butter of a Fox defense.

everyone thought he had the best defensive line when he had kris jenkins, ma'ake kemoeatu, mike rucker, and julius peppers. turns out that was the weakest part of the team that year. who knows, the d-line might dominate this year. i have concerns, but there really is no way to tell until we see for ourselves.
