Singletary: Hudson a better fit for Panthers

(By Charles Chandler, [email protected]) New Panthers cornerback/special teamer Marcus Hudson should be a better fit for the Cover 2 defense Carolina employs than he was in San Francisco's 3-4 scheme, says 49ers coach Mike Singletary.p/The more physical he can be, the better, Singletary told the Observer during the NFL meetings in Orlando, Fla., last month. In terms of (playing in) more of a Cover 2, Tampa 2, I think he would really excel. I think it gives him an opportunity to compete and use his tools a little bit more.

i didn't know marcus hudson was expected to be on the field for defense for any significant time. i don't really know anything about him. is he actually in consideration to supplant captain munnerlyn or something?

Richard Marshall insurance plan...

I'm telling you, I really don't see Marshall here next year...

CB1: Gamble

CB2: Munnerlyn

Nickel: Hudson?

interested to see how he looks in preseason... Looks like Singletary wanted to promote Hudson a bit..

Just curious, why not?

In my opinion, letting Marshall go would go against what we've been hearing from Hurney and Morrison, and would go against the whole "young players we've drafted in recent years must step up and be full-time starters" mentality. I know there's more to it than that, but keeping Marshall seems like a no brainer to me.

I would love to keep him, but I don't think he wants to be here, especially with what he thinks he is worth... We'll cut our ties if someone makes him an offer... If they don't, we'll keep him for cheaper than we normally could...

interesting. there's two from the university of south carolina too. i wonder if they do that to bring in more attention and money from north and south carolina fans. would they have picked captain munnerlyn in the 7th round otherwise, or was there someone available who was just as good in their minds?

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
