has anyone else noticed that the wide receiver with the highest vertical jump in the draft is the 5'5" trindon holliday at 42 inches? we need to get him, and steve smith needs to tutor this guy into becoming at least a watered down steve smith. is there tape of this guy jumping 42 inches? i'd like to see that.

Wouldn't mind it. Considering it seems we have more success with the smaller guys (Smith and Captain).

I would rather have a guy 9 inches taller that can jump 41.5 and has 31 inch arm length.

That guy is Scott Long out of Louisville. These undersized athletes like Holiday, Banks and McCluster are luxury picks.

Yep but I wouldn't mind Holliday either. He impressed me a lot at the combine all around especially in the receiver drills. Long is definitely an athlete worth a shot.

arm length is factored into combine vertical jumps. they jump and tip a group of sticks that are suspended above them. just based on the combine, holliday should be able to out jump any receiver in the draft for the ball. whether that translates into reality or not, i don't know.

awfully small, but could play a slot role/return man. I can just see him getting jacked up at any time, but I could be wrong. just to compare him to someone of similar size, Sproles is 5'7 181lbs, Holliday is 5'5 160. Needs to put on some serious weight if he wants to make it in my opinion.

wouldn't mind using a late round pick on him.

based on how its examined through the height of a basketball goal jumping straight up .. 10 ft .. 120 inches .. based on hollidays height 5'5 - 65 inches and vertical stuck together he gets to 107 inches 8 . 9 ft .. assuming holidays arms are around 27 - 28 inches that will translate to 134 - 135 inches all together .. long at 6'4 115 inches ..9.6 ft .. including arm length 146 inches 12.2 ft .. so holliday essentially can jump up with the normal sized corners and fight for it .. but will never completely out jump anyone unless he spends the off season in smittys work out group doing his leg routines

oh, ok. nice math. i just assumed they measured the vertical jumps from a fixed point so they could compare them across players without doing all the math. i'm probably wrong though. your thing makes more sense than holliday out jumping guys almost a foot taller than him.

nah what they do is you stand up by it with your arms over your head and they mark the tip of your longest finger .. and how far you jump over your highest finger is your vertical .. thats why you saw bruce campbell at the combine almost clear all the pegs and clifton geathers get about the same amount but have like 29 - 30 inch vertical
