Rock Hill Herald looking for die-hard Panthers fans in York County

Hello all,

I'm an editor at The Herald in Rock Hill and we're doing a story on whether Panthers fandom, or sports fandom in general, is recession proof. For example, Saturday's game is sold out, with folks willing to shell out big bucks for tickets. Retailers report sharp increases in the sales of Panthers jerseys, hats, shirts, etc. This all comes as people are cutting back in other areas of life because of a bad economy.

So, is your fandom recession proof?

We're looking in particular for Panthers fans from York, Chester or Lancaster counties who'd be willing to be interviewed for this story.

You can call me, Jason Foster, at 803-329-4066 or e-mail [email protected]. Please leave your name, city of residence and a daytime contact number. We plan to run this story Friday.

Thanks in advance!

I like to roam the new Wal Mart in Tega Cay hammered after a Panthers victory in my Panthers jersey. Great place to eat away a beer buzz and you get to try all the new snacks.

Since I will be in Chicago over the weekend, I have reserved a room for 15 at Timothy O'Tooles Pub to watch the game.

If these two awesome tidbits do not say I am a Huge Fan, well, good luck finding somebody else.

    • See that's the thing what I saw in game 2 was so embarrassing id rather they could just forfeit
    • Are you arguing that his height deficiencies and footwork within the pocket have not been a present issue clearly seen on his game tape particularly in the games he struggled in? Because that's simply denying what everyone in this fanbase who have watched the games have seen. It's interesting how hardline BY fans here quickly and effortlessly pivot from whailing about being victimized to becoming the aggressor and hurling out allegations of bias and hatred. And at the end of the day while Bryce Young clearly improved significantly from the first two games of the season the reality of the situation is he still finished 42nd in yards per pass attempt behind Mac Jones and tied with Caleb Williams and 38th in passing yards per game behind the likes of Gardner Minshew Aidan O'Connell Drake Maye and Will Levis. Furthermore it took Bryce Young 23 games to surpass Panthers legend Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage in 2019. So if your argument is he became a head and shoulders better passer over the course of the second half of the season the reality is we're still waiting to see that growth this season. And there is nothing controversial or vitriolic about saying so from the mind of a rational observer.
    • Cam regularly threw for less than 200 yards and nobody questioned he was elite. He averaged 219 yds per game for his career.  You seem to be way too hung up on yards as a stat.  By that definition Jameis Winston should have been MVP by now.
