What if Panthers had that 17th pick?

The only reason I mentioned the Senior Bowl was to say that 3 more sacks is not that much more its just one good game more. I didn't give him sacks.

Besides he said he would have been the number 1 rated DE in 2010 if he came out as a senior which is clearly not the case considering both he and Graham would still be behind Morgan. That has nothing to do with production but with size which would always be a big knock on them both no matter when they came out.

I just think its funny because Brown's last year at FSU he had 13.5 sacks. If you compare those numbers to any other DE in the draft...he had as many or more.

He is 6'4'' 260lbs right now compared to:

Derrick Morgan: 6'4'' 270 12.5 sacks

Brandon Graham: 6'2'' 263 10.5 sacks

Jerry Hughes: 6'3'' 257 13.5 sacks

Jason Pierre-Paul: 6'6'' 260 6.5 sacks

So, basically this year we have a bunch of guys who are about the same size with about the same stats (or less) and one guy who is a physical specimen who has never done anything in college worthy of being mentioned as elite other than hitting the weight room.

Give me a break...I'll take Everette any day of the week in our Cover 2.

This...............and just 1 question. why would anyone who has been a Panther Fan this century even have a discussion about drafting a TE before the 4th rd?

Besides if your going to start giving Brown an extra year you have to add in that what if Graham had as much playing time as a Freshman as Brown. Apples to Apples look at Downs Played which I have no idea how to find out. He didn't play nearly as much as Brown as a freshman.

Bottom line as you said it is impossible to compare stats like that so all we can do is go on who we believe is better on film and I give the edge to Graham. So yes it is an opinion but that is all we can do is speculate.

i love how everybody talks about trading down. who would you all trade down with? 1/2 the teams in this draft would absolutely LOVE to trade down.

In a perfect world we could

I am sure Jacksonville would love that spot so they can secure a Defensive playmaker and The Golden Calf of Bristol. maybe for a 2nd, 3rd and next years 2nd?

again, in a perfect world

Even if you think they are equals (which I do not) is not Derrick Morgan ranked ahead of Graham almost unanimously, why exactly would Brown by ranked over him? And I think you should be the last person to be preaching about maturity.

And as long as we are on the subject almost every single thread and every comment on this site is an opinion. The only facts in sports are the win-losses and stats.

From NFL.com

16. Tennessee Titans

Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech

Morgan gives the Titans a workmanlike rusher with an outstanding motor on the edge. He may not dazzle with his athleticism, but his production and toughness make him an ideal fit in Tennessee. (Previous pick: Morgan)

Based on his athleticism ALONE could make many choose Brown over Morgan. Once again baseless comments.

But apparently your opinion trumps all. Correct. Your previous comment seems to contradict what you just said.

That proves you have no idea what your talking about. Brown wouldn't even get a sniff before Morgan.

Like I said previously. Maybe we should bow and pay homage to you and your infinite wisdom. NOT!!!!!!!!!

How can you qualify that comment. You make it sound as if Morgan is the second coming of Lawrence Taylor. Since Brown came out a year early NO ONE, Including all the scouts could say Morgan is better than Brown. Only you are arguing this fact, I guess cause you want to believe we got screwed in the trade. That is about the only way I can see your justification for your STAUNCH position.

Man you are stubborn. I actually don't much care for Morgan. But the simple fact of the matter is he will be drafted 1st and that would have been the case had Brown stayed in school. That was due to him being undersized. Why is this so hard for you to understand? I actually would rather have Brown. No matter who you think will be better in the NFL FO would have still have questions about his size.

If we had traded last years 2nd and a future pick (3rd and a player or even a 2nd) I would be fine with the pick because he was a decent value pick where we got him but not when it ended up being a 1st rounder. It has nothing to do with who is better it has to do with value. And I know I'll get a person talking about semantics but should a FO not be judged by the quality of there drafting, signing, and trading. This trade IMO was not worth it.
