You know, all of our safeties are fairly young. Godfrey: 24, Martin: 25, Harris: 27. I don't think age will factor too much into the decision.

Yea my thinking is that both will be too talented to keep off the field. Sherrod will be the FS and maybe Godfrey adds a couple pounds to goes to SS. That's alot of speed and range at both safety positions but Godfrey has yet to prove to the be hitter and leader that Chris is. I like Chris Harris alot though, he could be a good joker LB/SS. To top it off Harris is a very smart player, Godfrey would really have to make some strides to take that spot from him.

Davis didn't look very special early....however, Davis didn't look like the worst player to take the field the majority of his first two seaons.

Thats because they limited Davis play and assingments. They knew he wasnt ready. Had he started the whole season he wouldve been heavily critisiced. Also its alot easier to be noticed and thought for bad when your a FS.

With injuries so much an issue over the years, we need both Godfrey and Martin. In a Tampa 2 the corner and safety pieces are somewhat interchangeable so it is nice to have several guys who can play in the defensive backfield.

Will be interesting to see what they do with Martin. Because it will have such an impact in the draft. They plan for Martin at S; and we likely take a CB in the first two picks.

Same with Corey Ivin, if the team feels he is the real deal and worthy of last years 3rd rounder and returning from injury then a DT drafted early is less likely.
