How about this. We'll revisit this discussion after the Eagles game. Deal? If Bryce lights them up as the current #1 defense I'll happily eat crow and become a believer.

You'll have to quantify what "lights them up" means for this to have any weight. Give me a Bryce stat line that will have you eating crow.

300 passing yards minimum 2 passing touchdowns.

Starting from week 1 Jordan Love - 260

Kirk Cousins - 241

Derek Carr - 142

Baker - 347

Watson - 168

Daniel Jones - 99

Burrow - 234

Lawrence - 169

Cooper Rush - 45

Jayden Daniels - 191

Stafford - 243

Lamar - 237

Those were home games for Burrow, Stafford and Baker

I’m not sure if you’re serious or what you’re doing here but yeah… go get ‘em Bryce… I guess

Lamar Jackson is a different QB altogether and a threat to run practically every play his game is not a pure passer. He does not need that to succeed. Bryce does.

Alright, here's an incomplete list of QBs that have not hit 300 passing yards against the Eagles this year:

Jordan Love

Kirk Cousins

Joe Burrow

Jaden Daniels

Matthew Stafford

Lamar Jackson

You're saying that the minimum you will accept is better than all of those QBs. Are these really your standards?

Here’s Tua’s 365 yard passing game with 2 touchdowns from Thursday

Mike McDaniel could get me 150 yards passing

Not a single difficult throw here.

You ask a question. You get an answer. And immediately start flailing about how it's an unreasonable demand from a first overall pick that you both are saying is playing at a high level now.

Jordan Love

Kirk Cousins

Joe Burrow

Jaden Daniels

Matthew Stafford

Lamar Jackson

All these guys have played at a high level throughout multiple starts over the course of their career save Daniels who is a rookie but has largely played spectacularly.

If you want low standards for Bryce Young just say that and we will agree to disagree. But if this kid is ever going to become a franchise QB it isn't going to happen if you expect him to stink against teams like the Eagles.

I thought your answer held unreasonable expectations, so I questioned it. I guess all those QBs stunk against the Eagles since they didn't meet your threshold.

I can say that my threshold for a successful franchise QB is 5,000 yards passing and get on my high horse and scoff at anyone saying it's unrealistic because they just have too low standards but that's not very productive is it?

    • Coker has certainly earned it. Good for him.
    • I don't think we don't call things aggressively, for a Canales offense, anyway. We don't have a QB who makes aggressive throws nor stresses defenses downfield. He is at a career low on 20+ attempts per game and his career 10-20 QB rating is abysmal.  That will always be a limiting factor IF you are looking for a high flying, downfield offense. I am not even that concerned about it, I just want to see effective offense and we decidedly do not possess that. A large chunk of that is Bryce. I think the second biggest chunk is Canales. All the other components(XL included) are fairly minor in comparison to those two things. I am an advocate of attempting to improve at QB. I am not focused on finding "The QB." We failed at that with Bryce. So let's just get better. If that's a one year vet or a draftee or a cheap trade or some combination of any/all, we should do that. We have to get that QB better. Bryce will fail in 2026 and we need to have REALISTIC options to take over when that happens. That ain't Andy Dalton or Hendon Hooker or Jack Plummer or Mike White or....you get the picture. Be serious about hedging that Bryce bet and not just having to make do if he struggles or gets injured.  My mind is definitely made up on Canales. It's year two and he hasn't improved much, nor do I think the bones of a good HC are there. Ron Rivera got to that point after two seasons and he was open about the changes he had to make and advice he got to make that leap in year 3. If we don't see the same after next year, how is he not just Brian Daboll?
    • Not really buying it because T-mac faces stiffer competition week in and week out.
