It means there are a lot of 2nd and 3rd tier player who win a ring just by being backups on the right team. In all sports there are players who win rings by being on the bench of the right team.... Example Adam Morrison with the lakers last year... You can say who would've thought Morrison would win a ring before Lebon James....

It would be impressive if he was actually the starting QB, or a key to winning the ring. That is all.
