OMFG what a joke, Bears & Giants get 4 primetime games?

It's only because Chicago and New york are two of the largest fan bases and markets in football and it's all about ratings. It also is not necessarily to do with those two teams(Giants and Bears) but who they're playing as well . Ttwo of the Bears primetime games are against playoff teams from 09 and one is just a crappy NFLN game, the other is when Bears and Giants play eachother). Three of the Giants games are about the opponent not them, the Colts, Eagles and Cowboys (all playoff teams from 09)

The fact that NYC and Chicago are the 2nd and 3rd largest cities in the country has a lot more to do with it than W and L. Panthers just don't have the draw to get more than 1 or 2 games per season, regardless of how good they are.

Yep.... The Eagles have 5 "primetime" games and are not expected to do much this year with a new QB, bad defense, a non existant o-line to protect that new QB.

so with that train of thought, maybe they could use prime time games to help sell the smaller markets????

They would most likely lose ratings which equals $$$ in the process with no guarantee of actually enlargening those smaller markets, besides being in the Northwest, I have to watch those damn Hawks games every fuging week anyways.....j/k:D

see, I disagree Darth. I think there are enough of us football lovers that we are going to watch Monday night football regardless of who is playing.

It might also do with the fact that Seattle plays pretty much mediocre to subpar teams throughout this coming season, I could see either the Saints or Falcons games, maybe Panthers(tie it in to some 06 NFCCG hype) getting some love but other than that I think their lack of quality opponents killed their primetime hopes this season.

BTW, Hawk what games you going to this season? I'm thinking I'll be attending the home opener against the 49ers and the Panthers game.

I am not 100% sure yet.

home opener against San Fran is for sure

hoping to go to Denver in week 2, but I also want to see San Diego in week 3...back to back is hard enough, three in a row....I dunno!!!

Giants November 7th is a probable, and I have some more maybes including at New Orleans, at Zona or San Fran and I'd like to take in the Panthers game too!

But it is the casual viewer that they are trying to lure in. Far bigger market I would think than die hard football fans who will watch regardless of who is playing. "Bandwagon" fans = $$$$$.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
