Moving up to get Armanti Edwards?

You give up a 2nd round pick for a guy with no position? What exactly do you do with Edwards?

Remember all those "Sign Vick" or "Draft The Golden Calf of Bristol" threads? Remember how Davidson will throw out some useless experimental "Mildcat" play when we really need some production instead of a "hope to hell this works" situation?

Say hello to Armanti Edwards. Younger than Vick, more talented than The Golden Calf of Bristol, and makes all those "WTF?" plays suddenly something worth looking at. Probably a reach by trading away a future second rounder, but the upside is there.

If nothing else, we should all be sh*tfaced with joy because we suddenly have an answer for anyone who wants us to get a The Golden Calf of Bristol/Vick style player.

What would you say if we get that 2nd rounder back if Marshall (signs his tender) is traded and one of the many DBs drafted today steps in his spot and is as good or better?

Even if we don't get the 2nd back, I think a lot of people are going to act like this conversation never happened over the next few years as they are enjoying the view from Armanti's jock.

And I'm not an App St. guy.

my thoughts exactly. Edwards is a straight up athlete, we could put him in so many positions, he seems like a good pick with a lot of flexibility and upside

not to mention ST was a big need for us. Always has been, he might be the answer.

    • Yeah they were bad QBs - but QB's that stayed on their teams for several years.  BY is better than all of those.
    • This is the right move even if you think Bryce isn't the future. Everything except signing him to a long term deal until proven otherwise. There's a decent chance we have a shot to draft a QB next year that we like.
    • If we're still bad enough that Canales gets fired, especially if it's during the season, there is no way we could ever attract any HC worthy of the job if we told them they had to keep Bryce their first year. That would be 2 coaches he's gotten fired and 4 years of not performing up to par. I still say replace both of them next offseason.  I like Canales the man and I think he's done an absolutely outstanding job at fixing our locker room issues, as it was really bad before he showed up.  But I just don't see it from him with his in game decision making, I think he's held us back just as much as Bryce has, just in different ways. Canales was our Dan Campbell, the coach you hire to turn the franchises culture around for the HC after them to inherit and take to the next level.   The difference was he had some elite coordinators early on and really let him focus on his "leader of men" role as opposed to the X's and O's that Canales does himself and it's turned out well for him.
