Matt Moore Highlights

Recommended Posts

Some of you seem to be drinking to Claussen juice right now, but rest assured, Claussen is only getting these accolades because he went to Notre Dame. The guy is AWFUL!! To put it in perspective, Brady Quinn did great with a winning record in ND, what did Claussen do? 16-18. I am absolutely certain Pike will be a bigger success than Claussen. Claussen's throws are like freaking missiles....remember another QB that once played for the Panthers that fit that same description?

If you need a reminder of the gem we already have, and how a well thrown ball is supposed to look, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Shv5YlxC4XQ&feature=related

Here's Claussen...pay attention to his motion pre and post release.

Now here's Tony Pike...Note the proper javelin throwing motion

Claussen fell so far for a reason

Count me in on the Moore ticket. Clausen can learn from him.

It will be a mistake for the coaches to keep giving this "it's an open competition" rheatoric. The best teams don't tell their starters that the rooks have just as good of chance to be the starter. "Hey Peyton, QB rook unknown has just as much chance of starting next year as you do!" Moore needs the support of the coaches. He is a great QB & am happy we have him. I'm happy about Clausen & Pike as well, but it's Moore for this year, IMO.

We've had a Qb without a proper throwing motion for years.. plus it looks like clausen is running for dear life in a lot of those highlights.

Pike is overrated by the fans. Even at the 6th round. Dude has struggled against decent defenses.

Contrary to popular belief ND's line was absolutely terrible. I have learned to absolutely hate Clausen over the years being a Trojans fan but I will support him as a member of the Carolina Panthers and if he earns the starting QB job in the future then I will cheer him on. With that said, go Matt Moore, let it rip out there and hopefully we will be trading Jimmy Clausen for a first-second round pick in a few years!

my observations(1) moore looks good in these clips(2) clausen showed some ability in the pocket to keep plays alive even if his motion isn't alsways the best(3) pike throws one of prettiest balls i have seen . with that being said we need to remember that some players just have the "it" factor going for them and to me clausen appears to have that quality but it remains to be seen as to whether that translates to the pros

Matt Moore is our QB, he hasn't given us reason to believe has anything above him. He's got the sort of arm strength Claussen can only dream of. Now the question isn't so much if Claussen will unseat Moore, as much as if we had intentions of drafting Pike, why did we pick Claussen at all? this leads me to believe Claussen is trade bait for the future

I don't know, I'm pretty sure one of the +'s that was Jimmy Clausen was that he had some of the best mechanics for a college football QB. I'm not buying the the bad mechanics stuff.

I'm rooting for Moore, but in no way am I gonna push Clausen away if he is the better QB.

    • Yeah, The Ravens' offense was stalling out while the Lions' offense was humming. The Henry fumble sealed their fate but I didn't like their chances regardless.  But either way, Derrick Henry 4th quarter fumbles have cost them one game and cost them and an opportunity in another. That Bills game was over until his fumble gave them new life and his fumble last night made their chances go from "not good but maybe" to "we need a miracle".
    • Who in this post is hugging his nuts?
    • I don't think we have been good yet. We were generally effective yesterday when we got scoring opportunities but struggled to move the ball under a heavy blitz and new receivers who he is still trying to develop better chemistry with and a makeshift line. And last week the comeback was impressive until it fizzled out. But week one we were bad and we have way too many penalties and picks and the occasional WTF play. We were better yesterday and the offense had no turnovers although special teams did. We are a work in progress as any panther fan would expect. I think we have the most rookies on our roster compared to any other team. No one thinks we are all that amazing or thar Bryce is the answer for sure. But we aren't the worse either and this constant negative narrative really is ridiculous and drowns out everyone else. I doubt I will be here much especially if we lose. The conversation is so negative and constant I don't even check in until Wednesday. But I will be here like always since 2004. Just not engaging in conversations with folks who just want to bitch and complain over and over with anything they can find as if that makes things better or they are saying something we all don't feel at times. Most of us realize this is year 2 of a rebuild and there are ups and downs. You have to be comfortable on the roller coaster. But anytime you point out the good you get inundated with negative crap as if we didn't see it too......
