Charles Robinson calls Clausen a loser

top dawg

Recommended Posts

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports has written a small, interesting piece on the seeming reversal of fortunes of Clausen and The Golden Calf of Bristol.

In reference to the draft (and looking towards the future), he gives us what all of us want to hear. He calls us "WINNERS". And, when you look at who else he calls winners, this is a writer that makes some sense. We can all take comfort in his apparent knowledge.

• The Carolina Panthers

No first-round pick, and Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen falls right into their lap with the 48th overall pick. A major stroke of luck for the franchise, giving it a first-round caliber quarterback to groom for the future. Now all John Fox needs to do is get an extension from the Panthers so he can be around to actually reap the benefits of this windfall in a few years.

Charles Robinson is actually a pretty good sports writer (so is Jason Cole; Yahoo's done themselves good in that department).

That said, he didn't actually call Claussen "a loser". Just said that he was a draft day loser in that he dropped so far.

Of course, Mr. Scot. The point was that looks can be deceiving. The only thing that Clausen lost is money (which I guess is a very big thing to him),

while The Golden Calf of Bristol is earning more money than everyone expected which makes him a big winner. BUT, in the end, because of their situations, The Golden Calf of Bristol may turn out to be the loser. Likewise, Clausen will ultimately be the winner.

    • I know it was obvious and I know the ref is to blame! But KB is a bum and my original post was about the situation in its entirety. You are right, he did touch him and that's why I said lay down on him to make it obvious. But KB did everything half assed and that is why he had less than a five year career. But the way Cam supported that kid and the way he ended up acting in the end is a dark spot on the franchise. It just doesn't sit well with me and never will. He literally left here talking about ball placement from a league MVP.
    • The Lee Hunter interview with Sheena Quick almost murdered me. That man said he had a 5 years old and a 2 munt year old!! 😂 and all of a sudden I couldn’t breathe!!
    • DLine has to be 50-79 or 90-99. So it’s likely to stay 92 over 62 or 52. Scourton and Phillips can wear a poo ton of numbers as “linebackers”, but the war daddy’s are still pretty limited.
