I know this only concerns a select few of you, so if you weren't involved in the first conversation then leave this page.

I played the demo of that Backbreaker game that a few of you recommended. It was GOD AWFUL.

Offense:

The offense on this game was the bright spot, but still terrible. The controls were so confusing and the camera angle makes it seem like My Player mode on Madden. There was cool tackles, but that is about it. The controls overall were sketchy which was really frustrating.

Defense:

The defense was herendous. You can only be one player at a time (normal), but once again it is like My Player mode and your player is pretty much the only guy on the D that you can see. You can be rushing in on the D Line and all of a sudden the ball will be downfield. And, the second you change your guy you are in a completely different view w. another player. The controls are better than on offense, but still not good.

ST:

This might have been the best part of the game. FG's/XP's were cool and easy to kick. Returning punts/kicks was a b**ch.

The stadium is a giant arena about 20 story's high and the players look like cartoons. Oh yeah, and the teams are completely retarded bc they are made up. On team is even called the talons..WTF???

On a scale of one to ten this game would be about a 3.5

I predicted this. People bash Madden but I knew this game would be a flop. You can't expect amateur developers (aka, ones you have never heard of) to produce a great game. Great games are not the norm, they are the exception. Plus, their whole point was dynamic tackles in order to beat Madden. How about gameplay first?

I should've posted "this is gonna be a flop" in one of those Madden threads...

madden 11 is getting a little better. they've been quite, unlike last year. hopefully this will be a great game...i know for a fact tho that im taking off that ugly ass cover as soon as i get it...

but just wait till madden 12....their last year with nfl perhaps...they will put everything they have into it...itll be the best madden yet

I really doubt this though. They have forgot what makes a Football game exciting. I really really wish THQ could get there shot at it. They are beating EA in the dirt with there new UFC game.

yes, but I bet MMA by EA will be better then UFC. The graphics are certainly better.

Doubtful I have not played it yet but its getting great reviews. EA always has the hype but never lives up to it. They just own all the licensing rights so no one else has a chance.

First off, why would Madden "go all out" if that may be the last year of that game. Why waste so much money in development if all the "new" stuff they come up with won't continue. I also want to point out that if you really want a better Madden and they do continue with the series, you should go out and buy the backbreaker game as soon as it comes out. Why, you ask? Because Madden is a monopoly in the NFL football gaming industry and competition is the only way they will improve anything unless everyone stops buying the game.

      Yup. Hopefully  Brandon adds some muscle this off-season but he'll probably be resting his shoulder for a while so I doubt it. Miles should probably be replaced but I don't think we find a better 4th option to be honest. So is it better to add depth along side williams and Coby or try to upgrade the 4/5 . I think adding depth will probably be more beneficial than trying to upgrade starters and bank on Brandon and Kons continuing development. I really don't think they are going to make the playoffs unfortunately. I think the big hole they put themselves in has exhausted them. They've been amazing since January 1 but I think it's come at a cost and their legs are gone.

      The issue is the predictability of it all in a Bryce Young led offense. In 4th down attempts the Jets were at 41 and we were at 40. And we were 4th in conversation %. We were 25th in the league in 3rd down conversion because we faced so many 3rd and longs in part due to playcalling on 1st and 2nd down but more largely due to the limitations that cannot be overcome.  And people want us to spend another 1st rounder on WR as if it is going to magically give Bryce physical talent he will never possess. It's a shame we cut off our own nose just to put ourselves in this frustrating predicament.
