Gametime preperations

Recommended Posts

So for all of us that aren't able to be at the stadium tonight, what's the preps?

For me, I'll be heading over to my mother's house (family of football fans:rolleyes:) and I'll be making dinner before the game. Deep dish pepperoni pizza and my special super spicy buffalo wings (my wife still can't eat more than three!) along with a case of sam adam's and 750ml of rum (thank God I'm not paying for this)

Then at 8:15pm I'll throw on my toboggon and my jersey and the rest of the world may as well not exist at that point. At 8:16pm I will piss off my mother's neighbors by yelling loudly.

Go cats, baby!

1)Wake up Smile that gametime will be probably less than 10hrs away.

2)Call my best friend a Falcon fan ..greet him with the customary "falcons suck" ask him to pick up the Chips/Dips/Sodas for the game.

3)Be extremely nice to my kids and wife because if Panthers lose they won't be able to speak to me for at least 2 days.

4)Start marinating steaks in special sauce (basically a bunch of liquors and spices)

5)Go to the World of Beverage for the beer and Fire water (greatest store eva)

6)Sacrifice Chicken Wings/Meditate/Pray/Chant/Plead till about 7pm (I always ask for a blow out victory but we all know that never happens).

7)Drink, drink, eat, eat, drink, scream, curse, pace, calm down at half time, pace some more , scream, sit quietly, scream, curse, mutter, scream louder, high five who ever close over the panther victory

    • So we cut him if we don't give him the option?  I'm pretty sure there are players who didn't get the 5th-year option that played year four of their rookie contracts with their draft team.
    • I didn't say do nothing if we don't draft one in the 1st and I"m not counting on a FA to magically become a franchise QB. But signing a FA to be our starter for the year and then re-address the next offseason would be FAR better than reaching on the wrong QB in the 1st this offseason. Feeling we HAVE to find our long term solution just because we need a new QB is how we got into this mess.  We thought Two Gloves would be at worst an average level QB for a few years, that didn't happen, so we went out and traded for Darnold.  That didn't work so we went out and traded for Baker, that didn't work so we went out and traded up to get Bryce. Our last 4 QB moves were all trying to force a solution, none of them worked out, and we're still trying to find Cam's replacement all these years later.  We'd just have been better off spending a year or two building up the rest of the team and going year to year on FA QB's while doing so.  I get it, it will be frustrating to deal with, but then when you find that actual long term solution, they plug right into an already built out roster and you're ready to contend immediately.
    • Great win, should be 3-0 but I'll take 2-1. LaMelo is an MVP caliber player, period.   This is looking like an incredible draft so far. Sion James looking like the exact type of role player that all contending teams need to have, absolute steal in the 2nd. Kalk is a work in progress and I question how much upside he has but he's already been a considerable upgrade at C for us compared to the last several years (outside of healthy Mark which of course was rare).   Really seems like new ownership/front office has change the culture here significantly. Every guy looks bought in now.
