Backbreaker S-U-C-K-S

Awesomeness!!

Recommended Posts

I like backbreaker because of the physics. It uses naturalmotion..so NO tackle is EVER the same. It's great once you get used to the controls, and camera angle. And plus..it's not even coming out at full price. (will be 49.99) So, this is pretty much a buy for me.

That's why I like it. It's something new, ya know? I'm sick of EA sports... I just want to play a realistic football game. Hopefully these guys that made Backbreaker will get a shot to make an NFL game after that BS exclusive license crap is dead.

Madden 10/11 is still the most complete football game we have right now. I can't wait to the BS license thing to be over either, because I would love for 2k to start making NFL games. 2k owns EA sports in even aspect of sports gaming, and EA knows it. This Backbreaker crap just doesn't come close though.

If 2K could bring their series back, EA would make much better games

I just think they're lazy without competition.

I do agree that Madden does repackage their game for about 3,4 years then add a feature or something that people will care about. All they did from 2001-2004 was update the rosters and again from 2005-2009. 2010 was good, but 2011 will be a repackaged version of 2010...

Yup. They left out certain things when they put Madden 10 on the shelves, so people would see Madden 11 and say.."Wow, Madden 10 don't have that!!" so people will buy Madden 11. That's the only way they sell their games every year.

But see with Backbreaker, if you like it, you can keep that game for a few years or so, and enjoy it... since you don't need to update the rosters.

They'll probably just release new stadiums and stuff through DLC.

NHL 10 begs to differ my friend....

Yep. I haven't bought Madden since the 2008 version, and I played that a few hours but at that time I didn't have xbox live so I could only really play franchise mode. And that froze up on me a bunch, so I took it back and haven't bought one since. I may buy this year's though...maybe they've fixed franchise mode by now.

I played the demo a couple of days ago. I really like their euphoria real motion thing. Is that what it was called? I just hit the bowl, I can't remember. Anyways the thing that I didn't like was the defense camera.

I always play as a DE on football games. With the way the camera switches, you get totally lost. If it could be tweaked some more and get NFL licensing (not gonna happen) the game would be great. IMHO

This game is innovation. Not many people like innovation or change these days.

I will say this though, the game does have it's own flaws...but with the first game of something new, I'm very impressed. I also love the create custom features in the game.

    • I hate seeing this. I'm not sure he was ever going to make it in the NFL without the injury but that injury knocked FSU out of the college football playoffs and cost him and them and opportunity on the biggest stage in college sports. The injuries are the worst part of this game.
    • I don't know what Texas A&M was doing with their edge rushers. They had two freaks in Scourton and Shemar Stewart and yet instead of turning them loose they asked them to play 20 lbs overweight and just set the edge. That's full-on coaching malpractice at any level. Much was made about Shemar Stewart's lack of sack production, but while he wasn't my favorite prospect this year a lot of that was clearly what they were asking him to do. The good news with Scourton is that, unlike Stewart, did manage to be a huge factor as a pass rusher despite this and despite playing 20 lbs overweight. If he can stay around 260-265 it should help him re-gain some of that explosiveness from his Purdue days.
    • I did, but again we're aware of the practice in college of inflating height/weight as well as what is considered normal and his freshman weight tells a lot. There was a recent Raw Room episode where at one point they were discussing putting on their "big boy weight" when they go to the pros. It's common for guys to have to slap on 20lbs over the summer, but King Dunlap mentioned having to put on 30 and how much of a toll that took on his body. That makes the idea of putting on 50 at the college level even harder to believe. I've got experience with cutting weight and that type of drop sounds just awful... and that's even if doing it healthy and not just turning yourself into a piece of human jerky. Having to add 50? Noooooo thank yoooou. I can understand wanting to take Scourton at face value, but we didn't take Bryce at face value either (and for good reason!). Give the recently posted videos a shot. I watched the one you linked even though I've already seen it, so why not extend the same courtesy? I think you'll find yourself getting more excited about his Purdue tape than you will being irritated by what you believe are false narratives being pushed. 😄
