Chandler and Frenchy traded to Dallas?

I wouldn't necessarily say CP wouldn't wanna stay in charlotte. He is buds with MJ and was seated next to Michael at one of our playoff games..right at the end of the bench.

Probably one of the many reasons Felton played like crap.

Some guys worry about those types of things.

Could we be cooking up something with the Wizards to get Arenas? Sounds crazy, I know. Just throwing it out there. Or Baron Davis. He's unhappy and i would think he would like to come back to Charlotte.

Davis is a California guy. He does not want to come back to Charlotte.

If he could go anywhere, it would be the Lakers.

Can somebody explain to me what this move does for us? I mean, I understood the Calderon deal that never was but this..... what does this give us?

I mean, we could have at least used Chandler next year and Ajinca seems like he could have eventually been depth.

And we pick up Matt Carroll's contract when it's already inflated?

Does anybody know what direction we're heading right now?

This gives us more flexability to make another move. Calderon's contract was guaranteed and for 3 yrs., Dampier's is 1 yr and not guaranteed. Chandler's will expire after this year but is guaranteed. We can cut Dampier and free up salary cap THIS year if we want. Or trade him for a better player as his unguaranteed contract is more valuable then Chandler's.

Chandler hasn't shown any indication the he can stay healthy and Ajinca hasn't shown that he can stay out of foul trouble

Matt could be our Flip Murray. We missed Flip's offense from the bench down the stretch after we traded him. Plus we got cash in this deal the will offset some of Matt's salary.

Does anybody know what direction we're heading right now?

I think we are seeing the tip of the iceberg from MJ. I think Dampier will never put on a Bobcats uni and will be shipped out for a PG or center.

This is just my opinion and I have no way of knowing just which direction we are going. But like you guys i hope this isn't the end

according to the espn article, that i think was posted somewhere earlier, we might be interested in Ramon Sessions of Minnesota. Young kid from University of NEvada @ Reno. Anyone know anything about this kid??

Meh, he isn't very athletic and is probably best served coming off of the bench.

He makes 4.5 or so million this year. and has 3 years and 11.7 million left. - Matt Carrol's contract.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2211

Thats not to bad if he can return to his form like he had in Charlotte, then I think that's fine. In the four full years Carroll was here in Charlotte he averaged pretty good numbers.

04-05 Season

Points- 9.0 (Season High- 22) *hit double figures 12 times in 25 games.

Assists- 0.7 (Season High- 3)

Rebounds- 2.4 (Season High- 7)

Blocks- 0.10 (Season High- 1)

Steals- 0.70 (Season High- 4)

05-06 Season

Points- 7.6 (Season High- 26) *hit double figures 26 times in 78 games.

Assists- 0.4 (Season High- 3)

Rebounds- 2.0 (Season High- 9)

Blocks- 0.10 (Season High- 1)

Steals- 0.60 (Season High- 3)

06-07 Season

Points- 12.1 (Season High- 27) * hit double figures 45 times in 72 games.

Assists- 1.3 (Season High- 5)

Rebounds- 2.9 (Season High- 9)

Blocks- 0.10 (Season High- 1)

Steals- 0.70 (Season High- 3)

07-08 Season

Points- 9.0 (Season High- 23) * hit double figures 34 times in 80 games.

Assists- 0.9 (Season High- 4)

Rebounds- 2.8 (Season High- 11)

Blocks- 0.20 (Season High- 2)

Steals- 0.60 (Season High- 4)

Matt Carroll Career High's

Points- 27 (twice)

Assists- 5 (once)

Rebounds- 11 (once)

Blocks- 2 (once)

Steals- 4 (twice)

Honestly, I think Matt Carroll will determine if the trade was a good one or a bad one. If Carroll doesn't perform well I think this trade could be labled as a a bad one. However, if Carroll performs well then there is no doubt the Bobcats stole one.

    • I'm convinced Harden wants to do nothing but put up pretty shots and try to draw fouls and then do nothing on defense lol. Brunson went off though
    • Baker was traded before he played his 5th year.  RGIII was cut before playing his 5th year. So it is rare but it happens.
    • Time to hit 4000 yards and 30 TDs (including rushing). I don't care about INTs anymore. That's a big part of the problem. He plays uber conservative until the game is on the line. Playing not to lose, instead of playing to win. Time to let it friggin rip from the get. The team can win with a pick or 2 if he has 3-4 TDs. Stop playing scared.  But to be fair, his WRs have not been great. You all can bash about 1st round picks and O-line cap all you want.  Chuba as your #1 RB his entire career.  Adam Thielen as your best WR for 2 of 3 seasons is ridiculous. Then a rookie as your best in the 3rd season. Legette is not a 1st round talent. Probably closer to a 4th if you compare him to Brazzel this year. Coker has been a walking injury report. Nothing else to really speak of at WR or TE. Jimmy Horn has potential, but he is not an NFL starter yet. Oline has been better as run blockers than pass blockers. Ickey has always been so-so as a pass blocking LT. Center has been a revolving door for 3 years. Damien Lewis has been as marketed. Hunt is a great run blocker but an ok pass blocker - when healthy. Moton has been solid at RT. Biggest problem with the oline has been depth. When someone went down, their replacement became a glaring weakness. Overall a good but not great unit the last 2 years. 2023 was a ish show. Nothing else to say.  Not one game breaker, take it to the house offensive weapon since DJ Moore. Hopefully we get a little of that from Brazzell.  Either way, in his 4th season, it doesn't matter. You have to be able to overcome whatever comes your way. First 3 seasons with a young supporting cast is defendable. Can't use that anymore though. 3rd year in the offense. 3rd year with the same HC.
