Jake is still the man....

Yeah, he had the shittiest game that he has ever had. Yes, I felt physically sick after the 5th interception. But he is still my guy.

Some of you have sworn him off. Others have burned his jersey in a wheel barrow ( dude, for real...). Not me. When I got home, i took my jersey off off, shook my head, and hung it up. I haven't forgotten what all number 17 has done for us. I'm not going to bail on him now.

If you feel the same way I do, post away. If you hate the guy and wanna see him gone, please post in the numerous other threads about how awful he is.

GO JAKE GO!

I'm more mad at the coaching staff abandoning the running game than Jake to be honest. They should have realized after an INT or two that he wasn't on his game, and that adjustments needed to be made. Instead, they kept forcing it when it wasn't there.

Agreed, and until we have someone better than Jake, he'll continue to start.

Although 12-4 did suck.

It was a pleasure meeting you in person.... I use to be a staunch #17 supporter but unless he brings a Lombardi to the city of Charlotte then what he did yesterday goes down as one of the biggest failures in Charlotte sports history. He had at his disposal one of the best running games in the league, an all world WR, a capable #2 WR all of these weapons and he still managed 5 picks and one fumble. I have seen great QB's do way more with much less, yesterday's loss was solely on him and the failure of this season was solely on him.

Jake was being Jake! When things go right for the Panthers he is very good. When the other team has a plan to take away the strengths of the Panthers then Jake cannot handle it, gets into panic mode and starts forcing passes that should never be thrown. It has happened before and will happen again. Its the John Fox way therefore it is Jakes way.

I love Jake and always will, but it is time to AT LEAST bring in someone who can compete with him for the starting spot and who will be ready to step in when Jake is done. I mean, Jake could decide to retire tomorrow. What happens then? We need to prepare for the future, whether the future is next year or the year after.

I dont mind Jake coming back, I just dont want Fox and company any more. They called those passing plays instead of running the ball and they played the stupid soft zone on the best passing team in the playoffs. I dont blame Jake near as much as I blame Fuzzy Fox and Co.

Heres the deal. Everyone is saying yeah, Jake played a sh*tty game, but he will bounce back. Sure he will, he will have some good games. The problem is, he throws out crap like this way to often. Remember Oakland? The exact same thing. Detroit? Didn't turn it over as much but just look shaky the whole game. The first Tampa game? Chicago? Minny? He has thrown a couple of stinkers this year and he threw another one at the wrong time.

And it's not just the INT's into double coverage, he cannot manage the game when he gets rustled up. Hurry the offense to the line with 5 secs in the third, the delay of game, he doesn't watch the clock. He writes checks his arm can't cash. When you look at a team that wants to control with the run game, the best ones have a mistake free QB and the best example of that is the Ravens.

Jake is a great guy, but I think it's time to look at another option. I'm not saying cut him, but I'm tired of Fox putting the game in his hands. When he makes one mistake, he can't get over it. You can't do that in the NFL.

    • As a Panthers fan I know what incompetence and doubling down on mistakes looks like. The Bills are fools for not just going ahead and cleaning house. Already seen that scenario play out with Fitterer. And it will end the same way for them.
    • Ive watched every snap he has played and the dude has a howitzer  CJ Bailey is noted for having impressive, "elite" arm strength with the ability to "push the ball downfield with ease," consistently completing deep shots with high yards-per-attempt, and threading tight windows with velocity, making him a modern NFL-caliber quarterback prospect with no significant arm strength concerns, per 247Sports, The Duke Chronicle, and Trinity Road Times. He's described as a "twitchy thrower" with long limbs, capable of making difficult throws under pressure and creating plays off-schedule, demonstrating both power and placement.    Key Aspects of CJ Bailey's Arm Strength:   Deep Ball Prowess: He ranks highly among Power Four quarterbacks for deep shot attempts, averaging significant yards per attempt, showing he can easily get the ball downfield. Velocity & Zip: He delivers throws with "requisite zip," layering the ball over defenders and hitting receivers in stride, notes Write For California. Tight Windows: Bailey successfully challenges tight windows and places the ball well, even when layering it over multiple defenders, say Write For California and 247Sports. Off-Schedule Plays: He can make throws with power and accuracy even when scrambling and creating his own space, showing advanced arm talent, notes 247Sports.    In short, Bailey possesses the arm talent expected of a high-level modern quarterback, able to generate both power and touch to make all throws, say 247Sports, The Duke Chronicle, and Trinity Road Times.
    • He has gunslinger tendencies but I am telling you, I don't see a high caliber NFL arm. It's very, very average or below.
