I really do not want to be such a downer I try to be as positive as possible but, if we do not make some changes it could be a very bad season next year.

Why,

First,we have the second toughest schedule in the league next year. This is huge from the way it looks we have no gimmes next season every game looks tough.

Second, if its not for a pretty good start to the season our defense would have finished as one of the worst in the league. Is this a lack of talent or just a terrible D coordinator? We need to find out and fix it in the offseason.

Third, offensively we are still a quarterback away from being really good. I hear everyone bitching about davidson but I believe we led the league in scoring the last half of the season so, I put this squarely on delhomme he has had some good years here but it is time for a change. It was not just the playoff game but most of the season. We had a good offensive season overall and you may say well doesnt some of that credit go to dellhome, no sorry, imagine if we had a stud QB that is consistently accurate, makes good decisions, and can move his feet to escape pressure.

Just my opinion.

We have to face the music. We were probably due for a terrible playoff performance given our past in the postseason and the success we had. I know we haven't had a full generation of fans completely grow up yet, and it shows, but we can't duck and hide everytime the Panthers play bad or lay an egg. Go through the time line of any NFL franchise and you'll notice some ups and downs like the stock market. We've actually been fortunate compared to some organizations that have had 30-40 years in the league. Cheer up! Go buy some cheap Panthers stuff on ebay and get ready for next season!

Don't look for a lot of changes. We'll get promising players at receiver and linebacker back from IR, as well as our starting right guard. If the line stays healthy next year our running game should be pretty damn solid. I can't imagine both Williams AND Stewart getting hurt, so even if one goes down we'll still be in good shape. Some familiar faces may be gone. Hoover, Kasay, and Goings have all been around for a good while. You can't count on those guys coming back.

In the draft we're going to get a few good, but not great players. If we're lucky we'll get a defensive lineman in the second round, but you can bet that Hurney and Fox will go for BPA. That's what they've done since the Shelton draft and it's paid off well. I wouldn't expect a starter from the draft, but maybe we can get someone who will develop well.

In Free Agency we'll be lucky to keep all of our own guys. Gross and Peppers will both be expensive, and Hangartner may be gone if another team gives him a nice offer. I think we're going to be looking at guys like Shaun Cody who should have been better than they are but for whatever reason just haven't lit the world on fire. Think of someone like Tyler Brayton. Someone like Nnamdi Asomugha is a pipe dream unless we don't sign Peppers, and if that happens we'll be shopping for a DE first.

So it's going to look a lot like we're standing pat. A lot will hinge on injuries and player development. Maybe Hayden will emerge. Maybe Barnidge will come around as a viable receiving target, and Davidson will take advantage. Connor could set the world on fire at OLB, and Robinson could stretch the field opposite from Smith. Point is, even with minor changes the team could look a lot different.

Outside our division, we're playing teams that we have a combined record of 23-38 against all time. Only one of them has a losing record this year, which is the Bills at 7-9. On the bright side, only one of them had as much success as we did this year during the regular season, and only five of them made the playoffs, but it's still going to be a challenge. Our opponents combined for 151 wins this year, but that's up from 124 in 2007 and 120 in 2006, so maybe they all just had good years.

Just like this year, a ton will depend on us staying healthy. If we do that, then we'll be bitching or celebrating in January once again next year, which either way is something that a lot of fans don't get the opportunity to do.

This loss really messed a lot of people up. I'm not going through another season(extremely hard season) under Fox. I can't do it. His coaching style doesn't cut it anymore. Some people wont see it till we start ending up like the Colts. Make playoffs, but never to the Superbowl. Yea went 12-4, but those 4 losses hurt a whole lot. Even the wins was painful cause few games was much closer than you expect and some we almost lost. Without Smith we could be 10-6, with losses to Packers & Saints

With Mike, not can't, I won't go through it

I dont blame Jake and his inefficiency all on him. We had a lot of options to give the ball to, but the ball always went to Smith or Moose. I blame him and the coaching staff for that one. Good thing about Jake last year was that he spread the ball around. Smith and King was the only ones catching it. This year he didn't, and it ended in the playoffs. Our passing games needs a huge booster

passing game needs somebody who can throw an accurate ball fairly consistantly....

    • My projection. I think at WR its time to go with youth. This means Moore should be the odd man out. Horn can return both punts and kicks and Tremayne is a better WR than Moore. XL gets one more year to prove himself, although I could see a trade in the future which would mean Moore could stay. For OL, I would like us to bring back Brady if we can. The RBs, Trevor can return both punts and kicks too. With the uncertainty of Brooks and Dillon, its hard to choose either one. I think the team would like for Brooks to have a breakout season to clear any uncertainty that he deserves a spot. For now, I have them both even and on the team. DL looks solid as well as OLB. Watch out for the UDFA of Aaron Hall and Isaiah Smith at OLB. They look promising and could knock someone off the team. ILB is still the biggest weakness on the team. We need to upgrade that any means necessary. CB is strong and Im praying to all the Gods that Wheatley beats out Scott at FS.  OFFENSE: WR: Tetairoa McMillan - *Chris Brazzell II* - Brycen Tremayne TE: Tommy Tremble - James Mitchell LT: #Rasheed Walker# - *Monroe Freeling* LG: Damien Lewis C- #Luke Fortner# - *Sam Hecht* RG: Robert Hunt - #Saahdiq Charles# RT: Taylor Moton - #Stone Forsythe# TE: Ja`Tavion Sanders - Mitchell Evans WR: Xavier Legette - Jalen Coker - Jimmy Horn Jr. QB: Bryce Young - #Kenny Pickett# RB: Chuba Hubbard - Trevor Etienne - #AJ Dillon# - Jonathon Brooks DEFENSE: LE: Tershawn Wharton - Bobby Brown III  NT: *Lee Hunter* - Cam Jackson RE: Derrick Brown - LaBryan Ray LOLB: Nic Scourton - Patrick Jones II  LILB: Trevin Wallace - Bam Martin-Scott - *Jackson Kuwatch* RILB: #Devin Lloyd# - Claudin Cherrelus  ROLB: #Jaelen Phillips# - Princely Umanmielen LCB: Jaycee Horn - Akayleb Evans RCB: Mike Jackson - *Will Lee III* - Chau Smith-Wade SS: Tre`von Moehrig - Lathan Ransom FS:  Nick Scott - *Zakee Wheatley* - Demani Richardson  SPECIAL TEAMS: K/KO: Ryan Fitzgerald P/H: Sam Martin KR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. PR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. LS: J.J. • His contract is guaranteed.  Legette is just not where he needs to be mentally.  Not fully invested, it seems.
    • Literally like Hill. He's not QB1 material (now or ever), but if we can turn him into a H-back and use him like  Swiss army knife, that's his ticket to make the roster.  H-back/emergency QB.  I wonder how good his hands are?  If they are at least above average by NFL standards then we can line him up in the backfield, in the slot, split out wide and of course, in the Wildcat.
