also clausen out performs matt moore during training camp and throughout preseason but always stubborn john fox continues to keep moore the starter and by the time clausen takes control of the starting role the season is lost. John fox gets fired and gets replaced by a new John. John gruden to be specific. with the 12th pick of the 2011 nfl draft the panthers draft adrian clayborne and continue to make up for the loss of julius peppers. grudens knowledge for the qb position benifits clausen so much that he ends up passing for over 4,500 yards and the panthers have two 1,000 yard recievers (smith, moore) for the first time in franchise history.with edwards also pitching in catching 80 passes playing the slot. carolina captures homefield advantage with a 14-2 record and wins the superbowl 35-14 against joe flacco and the ferocious defense of the ravens. a dynasty is born. clausen wins mvp and gets inducted into the hall of fame 20 years later along with his teamate jonathon stewart.

1. Lots of unique and clever offensive plays. Then, they all disappear Week 1.

2. No one steps up as the #2 WR. Job goes to Jarrett by default.

3. Cantwell impresses staff and wins the backup job over Clausen.

4. No season-ending injuries to key players.

5. Fox will get peeved at any questions regarding his job status.

    • For a 3rd year QB? That flies with the Teppers and makes the HC and GM look like fools.  Their fear is evident. Their careers are tied to making it work, it's ehy they signed on here and they are professionals who knows what kind of a situation they could potentially have on their hands if they are not calculating about popping up Bryce. I call BS to that sir. It's why every QB after Bryce couldn't make any other rosters past a PS spot...at best
    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
