custom closets - worth the silent treatment?

i realize that, but the problem is, she had a designer come in and woo her with the real wood crap. when i shot that down and took her to lowes and home depot, those weren't up to par.

i guess the do-it-yourself kits do not "smell of rich mahogany."

i don't think you have to tell anyone here. closets aren't a place you spend a lot of time. they aren't usually seen by guests. there's no need for them to be anything more than whats needed. you've got me thinking of Goldie Hawn in Overboard.

am i a bad husband for telling my wife, "no, i will not pay $6,000 for someone to customize our closets?"

if i had $6,000 to piss away, it sure wouldn't be on a "custom closet."

do you concur?

You're a great husband for that... We can not let these women control us or our wallets. Welcome to the club sir. You will make a fine addition. Here's your t-shirt.

I observed a very high end home being built for a project while I was at school. The custom builder just built them their own closets. The closet contractors are really expensive, really not worth the premium.

you want something that's sturdy. Don't get some cheap thing with veneer. Get solid wood and use something with sturdy finishings. You can trim it with some of the smaller 1" trim pieces you can find at any home center.

It's pretty simple stuff especially if your used to doing little projects around the house.

    • That's one of the most sober and honest breakdowns I've seen of Bryce.   That guys is being as real as can be.  No sugar coating, no tepidness to critique, blunt and straight to the point.
    • If you think someone shared some bad data on PFF (and is falsely slandering your PFF) well....then you post the QB rankings and show where that 71.5 stacks up week 1 vs the field.  I don't pay for PFF and won't.  I just go off of what others say on PFF.
    • but it's pretty obvious, everyone who watches football simply knew....BY didn't outplay Trevor.   It just didn't happen.  And you didn't think it happened.  Because it didn't happen.  but, if you want to go back after the fact, slo mo film AND you just want things to of been better for Bryce?  Well, you can make that happen.   All you got to do is put on glasses and have the want.   You will find whatever you need.  Well, you know what....maybe he didn't botch that easy throw to Renfrow for a TD.  Maybe it was the pressure that forced a bad throw.  Everyone else could of been better.  It's really the OL that was bad.  Nothing he could of done now that I think about it.  Nevermind he could of just thrown it on time for an easy big play and the pressure wouldn't of existed....or the fact NFL QBs got to make it even with that type pressure.
