I do not see how many can claim Ryan to be an "elite" qb.

what does my favorite teams bad qb decisions have to do with me? And in all honesty, i do have room to talk....i have seen the "next great flash in the pan" named fiedler, huard, culpepper, harrington, lemon, freortte, beck, henne, pennington....etc etc

its down right pitiful. but every single one of those guys was the guy that was gunna turn it around.

Dont use drafting clausen as being a backup plan. there are/were plenty of free agent vet QBs that would be a good safety net for an obviously rebuilding team. The fact you guys didnt have a 1st round pick, and used your 2nd rounder on a qb is not a good sign for matt moore, no matter how much you wanna sprinkle glitter on it. Why not draft someone in the 3rd or 4th? or trade for jason cambell, or mcnaab? or sign a vet?

Peter King said he asked moore his reaction when clausen was taken....he said "unexpected" after a long pause.

Yeah, sounds like its just a safety net/back up plan to me.................

So wait...Did Green Bay draft Brian Brohm (2nd round) and Matt Flyyn (7th round) as a backup plan or to replace Rogers? The were drafted the same year that Rogers was going to take over the team, like Matt Moore. Its the same exact situation

Even though I agree with your argument, you could easily say that the Packers did not know what they had in Rodgers since he had zero career starts.

In true Packers fashion, it would not surprise me if some of what led them to draft those players was also for the potential to groom them and trade them, as they have done successfully in the past.

Your exactly right, an undrafted career backup that could very well get cut during the year as well as playing against the #2 defense in the Minnesota Vikings, as exactly ZERO 0 pressure on him.

Your logic is great, buddy!

He fumbled twice against the Vikings as well and they gave up the 10th most passing touchdowns last season. But the other person is right. If you are going against the number two defense in all of Football, and you are a backup, you have no pressure on you. Nobody thinks you are going to do anything to them to the point doubt even Minnesota gameplanned for Matt Moore.

    • Them playing behind a couple more seasoned guys until they get familiar with coverage and pace of play is a good thing though. We really can use them to spell the other guys, and in situational ball especially with Ransom on possible run/blitzing downs.
    • They fuged him over so bad to help cover their bad judgement. About time he got a little something to wrk with.
    • I think completion percentage is a bit of a overinflated stat for a qb too. People place to much stock into it. So many factors to consider with it : receivers, how many attempts are made deep, the defense etc all play a roll in it. When it’s considerably low 50% or less the QB accuracy can come into question. But I don’t think it’s necessarily one of the better percentages to put so much importance into for that position. General effectiveness is far more indicative of the QB you have. First downs, 3rd and 4th down conversions, points scored and clutch plays IMO is how you grade a QB. Always bothered the poo out of me how people downed Cam for his completion percentage and that’s what they used to disregard him as an all time great. Dude damn near averaged 3tds to 1 turnover a game and was an obvious difference maker for us.
