LPF's Observations from the box and locker room

I covered the game for a friend who needed a fill-in, so it was back to nice meals and chats with the TV guys.

Dinner was tilapia or meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. Myself and a couple other guys rated it a B+.

Thumbs up to the interns for doing their jobs well last night, thumbs down to no press shuttle and a longer walk.

Talked to Jimmy and Matt for a while, both were easily approachable. Matt discussed his disappointment in not producing points, and seemed genuinely at a loss to describe why his numbers weren't better. Certainly he wasn't pointing the finger at anyone though.

Armanti wasn't in a very talkative mood, when asked about the punt as Zod said, he just replied "I just dropped it."

Jimmy lit up when I talked to him about his first home game, but he clearly wasn't happy with the result. He seemed more upbeat about it than Matt though, I did notice that. He mentioned they're making strides and he thinks it'll show soon.

My MVP of the night? Charlie Dayton, for driving some fans back to their cars in Lot 2, just because he's a good guy.

    • Is this the year the Steelers finally have a losing record?? Who is Arod going to hand off too? Who besides the newly traded and paid DK is going to run routes?? Who is the TE?? Can the OL hold for 5 secs without being flagged?? TJ watt is upset and underpaid, cam heyward is 49 years old, how has Tomlin done this?? Im not a fan, but go ahead and put Toms in the HOF, Jesus he's a wizard....
    • here I feel is the greatest overlooked skill for QBs. Being able to avoid hits, guess who was the best at that- Tom Brady. If you watch enough clips, you will see Tom take one side step left or step up, it perfectly avoids the defenders pressure. The other level is, he did so before he needed to. Just a grand master.  It's simply a godlike trait and no one talks about it.  I've pooped on BY plenty, he's much better than I thought at avoiding hits while running and still learning the master art of making defenders miss in passing situations.
    • I hope peeps don't bump my draft QB ranks where I had Anthony Ricardson ranked above BY..... Add another selfburn, I had Levis right next to BY if not slightly above him a couple different ranks..... * I did have stroud clear #1... *** BUT the way trends are currently....... its too early still, but BY is pointing up at least while the others are down.... Still wish that trepper never forced that trade, but I totally get he was beyond tired of waiting for a QB savior. Dang tepper, if you had the coaching staff, either Baker or Sam Darnold would have been the guy.
