A reunion that no one in the NBA expected will be taking place in Charlotte this season when Kwame Brown suits up for the Michael Jordan-owned Bobcats.

Brown's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN.com on Monday that the 27-year-old has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Bobcats.

The deal, for the league's veteran minimum, will bring Brown and Jordan back together almost 10 years after Jordan drafted the power forward straight out of high school in Washington with the No. 1 overall pick in 2001 in a move that worked out disastrously for both of them.

For those who actually thought MJ had a clue....he goes and proves you wrong again.

What? Come on!! We signed Kwame at the league minimum. And before you attack Charlotte for even being interested in him, Boston wanted him also.

It's not like we're expecting him to turn around the franchise, just to provide some shot blocking presence now that Chandler is gone.

I don't see a darn thing wrong with this move.

On the other note, did Kwame ever live up to the hype? No! Was drafting him a mistake, as a first, by Jordan? Absolutely yes. Still, the 1st round of that draft had very LITTLE talent for one, and two, what's done is done and the league minimum is about what he's worth these days and that's what we paid.

I don't see one thing that's wrong about this signing.

    • Yeah I'm not against picking someone with physical tools.  But Josh Allen is creating a lot of fools gold in front offices' eyes.  They still have to be good at football at the end of the day.
    • Trey is the backup QB for SD, Zack Wilson is the backup for Miami.  I don't think BY is even a NFL caliber back up.
    • Honestly it depends on your definition of bust. I think there is an argument to be made that he's not even Top 2 since 2021, and that's coming from one of the bigger anti Bryce people here since before we even drafted him. I think Zack Wilson and Trey Lance both had more pre-draft hype than Bryce did, maybe by a wide margin, and both of them ended up turning out even worse than Bryce has.   Plus the 49ers gave up almost as much as we did for Bryce to take an unproven raw D2 QB who hadn't played in a year because Covid shut that level of football down.  While the Jets turned down all sorts of big offers to take Wilson as well. We made Bryce a bust by making the trade and then taking him, despite him not being liked by many analysts for the same reasons that was clear to so many of us fans.  It was widely talked about being a bad QB draft, so much so that the Bears stuck with Justin Fields for another year and traded away the #1 pick because of it. So as bad as Bryce has been, I honestly don't think he ranks near the top of the all time busts list, mainly because I think people forget he wasn't some can't miss prospect and we're the idiots who made a bad trade to take him to make it just look worse.
