Hoover is done, Fiammetta hasn't looked like an All-Pro or anything but FB is a position that takes a bit of time to learn. Not only do you need to know all of the blocking assignments themselves, you also need to know how the OL likes to block on certain plays and the timing of Guards that pull. Add on top of that, each RB is different as to how they hit a hole and you also need to get into time with that. It takes time, he has looked pretty good and he will get it.

Do ya'll think this an indication of our rushing woes? Fiammetta has looked decent, but far from a solid FB.

Man he is a problem some what watch the game or atleast the way he straight wiffed on that fourth down play he dove into the endzone like he the damn ball that was hilarious go watch it somebody please. He didn't make contact at all hoov woulda laid him out or at atleast made contact and that was the dude that triped stew up hey its just me it was predictable but if he does his damn job we score plain and simple

I can agree with that he needs more time he's not hitting hard as we are use to but I left that out when I watched him he hasn't had time with stew to know his tendencies due to numerous reasons inj five carries game one maybe five game two

Fiammetta is not a major liability in the running game, but is not yet a significant source of help either (some good plays, some bad). Passing game not as good, but they are not keeping him in for much of that (expectedly); Hoov could provide an outlet in the flats, but FIMA sucks at that right now (good news is that he probably won't do much to help the Saints this year either).

In all, not a horrible FB...if he does not progress quickly, he could be replaced by an up & coming next year if Fox is here or be religated to unecessary if a coach comes in who is not run 1st. I wish Hoov was still here, but more importantly, I hope Hoov is healthy enough to enjoy the rest of his life. He took & gave a pounding while he was here. he should be a Panther Hall of Honor or some other honorable designation IMO (just like Kasey should be 1 day).

If that's the case, I say they ought to approach Hoover about being the RB coach. He's local to the area. I wonder if he'd take it? Just a thought.

Well, I am guessing you mean FB coach cause Jim Skipper is probably the best RB coach in the NFL and no way do we replace him.

FB is not really a position you can teach. You can teach a FB how to block properly and how to read where his assignment is most likely to come from and some things of that nature. A lot of it is just a feel for the game though, it is an instinctual position that you learn with time.
