We probably won't know 100% whose starting until right before the game. At WR its probably going to be Gettis again. The Bengals have the 18th ranked defense in the league compared to ours at 22. Their offense is ranked 10th with ours at the bottom of the barrel 28th.

That's not a good outlook for Jimmy if he can't get at least one day of practice with all the actual starters in place.

As far as the ranking I actually feel good about that. The Bengals are being ranked that after their last game, no? That means is probably closer to being accurate than ours. I know our defense can play better than they have the last game and certainly our offense HAS TO do better than it has.

Still have no idea how we plan on containing both T.O. and OchoCinco.

Can we double team both of them?;)

Well according to the Observer Smitty is limited in practice because of his thigh so I thats already a problem.

Our secondary is gonna have step it up...during the giants game I almost made a drinking game out of watching Martin look lost during the giants game

I miss Ken Lucas...I also miss the old Chris Gamble. I think Gamble should grow the dreads back out! Maybe he would do better

As we all know the Bengals have a high powered offense. The only way we have and chance of beating them is if our d-line can generate consistant pressure, and our defense can generate turnovers. We simply don't have the weapons for a shootout.

I've had arguements with other fans that the loss of Peppers was major blow to our d-line, to the point where we can generate enough pressure to make our Tampa-2 effective. For whatever reason, fans simply don't want to admit this fact, and continue to believe that our DEs are doing just fine. Ask Eli Manning how they're doing, he was totally untouched, and they were throwing it like crazy. It's common knowledge that you need at least one elite pass rusher on your front 4 to play zone defense effectively. We don't have that right now, so expect the Bengals to go to the air early and often.

I doubt that the Bengals will try to test our run defense all that much. Our d-line is good in run defense, and Beason is playing like a man possessed, not to mention Connor and Anderson are playing well. No need to test the strength of our defense when Palmer will have all the time he needs to throw into a soft zone. When he does throw, our secondary has to make solid tackles, and our safeties need to play mistake free football. Godfrey and Martin are built more like ball hawks than big hitters, so they need to make the most of any opportunity for an INT. Also keep in mind that in Tampa-2 the safeties don't come over to help the MLB cover the deep middle routes until the ball is actually thown. This makes things easier on the safeties, so they need to makes some plays.

As a side note, I'm expecting some trick plays form the Bengals. They like to run them, and we have a very young and inexperienced defense. They might just try a fake punt/fg, depending on if the game is even close down the stretch.

My biggest worry is that the Bengals look very good in the red zone, with Palmer throwing to big WRs, and Captain being terrible in the red zone. Not really a good combo.

I love Captain cause he reminds me of a Smitty on the defense; small but plays big. Unfortunately I think that works better on offense than on D and sometime he just can't compete with these big wideouts...

Its going to be a tough game, chances are I think we will give up alot of points, but alot of the game hinges on our run game, if we can play possession football and grind it out, we have a shot, if things turn into a shootout, we will struggle heavily.
