Is it time to break up Panthers, trade Smith?

I'm not. We're blaming quarterbacks but I think another part of the problem is he isn't getting open.

Then I'd say there's only two possible explanations for your saying that:

A.) Your trollin'

B.) Your just looking for something profound to say in spite of the fact that you don't have any evidence to back-up your claim.

So, which is it?

I just think that with the receivers that the Panthers have now even Peyton Manning would be just a mediocre quarterback. I'm not trolling. Heck I've had PSL's since year one and love the Panthers . I just don't hero worship these guys like some here do. If you tell me that Smith is still the same player he was when he was returning punts for TD's .....catching everything thrown his way..... then we just have a difference of opinion. I'd put him currently in about the 12-15 range in terms of best wide receivers in the game.

Nope I said first round picks. If there is a team out there that is jsut a wide receiver away from contending I think they would give us first round picks.

We wouldn't even get one first rounder for him. He is like Brandon Marshall to most of the league, a problem guy with anger issues. What did Miami give for Marshall who was younger? Yeak a 2nd rounder. That would make Smitty worth a second rounder next year at best. Not even close to what he is worth to us. That equates him to Armani Edwards who cost us a second rounder next year.

I just shed a tear. Stop reminding me that AE cost us a 2nd rounder...and it makes me want to cry even more when I hear ignorant fans say they would trade 89 knowing that we probably would be lucky to get a 2nd in return.

Steve Smith is not like Brandon Marshall..

Yeah Steve is high maintenance and plays with anger but thats what makes him great.

Marshall was a problem on and off the field way bigger head case than smith..IMO

That is how you see it. But others think he is a big problem and that hitting on Lucas should have gotten him kicked off the team. Now he blows up on TV to the QB making him a poor teammate. Much like TO did in Dallas.

Yeah most folks outside of Carolina don't like him at all and think he is a punk.

Anyone catch the winers line today on the pack man show? Guy went off on Steve Smith for getting upset during sunday's game. It was funny. He wanted Smitty gone. Guy was obvisouly a moron. Smith has every right to get fustrated. I believe he has deserved that position. And Jimmy needs to get an ear full from smith. It will only make him better.

Kicked off the team?? this is not high school football. yeah it was wrong but we all know as long as you can play at a high level most teams are willing to put up with a diva.

The guys in the FO dont care if he is a punk or not.The question is can he play and help me win? and that would be a yes

omg. we went through this all of last week! why damnit why? :banghead:

It seems impossible for some people to see a guy, like Smith, as anything but self centered, pensive and spoiled would be too much to ask Dpantherman. The kind of guy who would break his body, give 110% and only want to be in every play...how crass!

I'll take $1.00 for everytime SS has sat stern and pensive on the sidelines alone, and live quite comfortable.

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
    • Well I guess he should stop playing football. This was his defining moment and chance to prove he was generational and he failed. What a waste of football life..
