We need a red-zone threat.

Seems to be the same poo different year. When we get in the red zone, the only thing teams have to worry about is our 1 dimensional running game. Lets get a proven playmaker at tight end upon the new regime change and give us two weapons down in the end zone. Smitty can't make consistent tough catches within the 10 yards of the goal line nor should he have to since it could lead to interceptions. Same goes for LaFell since he is absolutely terrible at it.

Dj??

I have said over and over that, as much criticism as I've given Jarrett, I do think he could be a great red zone threat. At least moreso than our current options.

I know that sounds crazy coming from me, someone who has given Jarrett a ton of poo, but if Jarrett can be utilized anywhere, it's in the redzone. He can catch those short passes, even with defenders draped on him.

Now, is he worth activating just as a "redzone threat"? Probably not -- we've got to get these younger guys some playing time.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
