How much do you believe in our drafting skills

This years Draft is gonna be very important if we want to stay competitive and we are gonna need some good pick because we have some glaring holes.

The biggest no doubt will be left with Peppers. DE is a must

The second will be at DT. We have almost no inside push.

Third would be at CB. We need a Nickle or 2nd CB.

All are our glaring holes and will need to be addressed.

first round yields some great returns in production.

the other rounds, not so much

I agree... we are good with our 1st round picks:

Peppers, Otah, Stewart, Morgan, Davis, Gross, Gamble, Williams, etc...

we use to be great with our second and third round picks:

Marshall, Jenkins, Foster, Smith, Kalil, Wharton etc....

And can sometimes stink it up after the first round:

Shelton, Ellison, Colbert, Olineman from Iowa with hip problem

We have a lot more needs now than people realize:

DE

DT

CB

QB

TE

WR

S

A roster that looked jack not that long ago now looks pretty mediocre, especially on defense.

S and WR we are good IMO. Jarrett improved and should be give the ok to be the 3rd WR. Godfrey looked good at the end of the season and will be better if Trgo gets his walking papers. We are good at TE with a young Gary Barnage waiting in the wings. The rest I agree with.

why not put every position on there? how about LB and ST's?

DE- weakness but can be addressed via draft / fa with adequate players, nobody of Peppers caliber

DT- same approach

CB- scheme and not the players

QB- no good FA QB's and none worth drafting high, we will sink or swim with Delhomme again unfortunately

TE- I like the rotation of King Rosario and Barnidge, not their fault that Jake only throws into quad coverage

WR- our #1 is getting up there in age but has a 2-3 peak seasons in him, our #2 WR has about one more season in him, I agree that this is a position we will need to watch closely

S- Harris is an enforcer, we all knew he can't cover.... Godfrey made a transition from CB to S and started as rookie, he will improve drastically in year 2

Bruce Nelson? Did he even play a game?

That was a bad pick, and Umenyiora was on the board too when we picked him.

This year's DE class sucks, so I expect we go OT if Gross leaves or CB if he re-signs. I'm also not overly fond of any of the DT's in the first round.

But then, I never thought we would take a RB at #13 with Williams in line to start. So anything is possible...especially since we haven't even begun free agency.
