I am not disagreeing with you, but I do not agree with the original poster that you have to have an Offense oriented team to win today. The Steelers has always been the team that the Panthers "wanted" to be like. There hasn't been a more consistent team in the NFL and they are Defense oriented.

All I am saying is the NFL goes through trends. Now, the trend is pass heavy. Seems like people just remember the Saints and Colts and forget how the Steelers and Giants won.

Agree with you there. About the Steelers, they have had some very good OCs go through there as well. The biggest thing that the Steelers do on offense is let the offensive coordinator and staff develop the offense and not tie their hands to just one philosophy like John Fox has done here. That's why I don't think we have to have a offensive-minded head coach.

we don't necessarily NEED an offensive minded head coach. we have another Defensive minded HC who hires an OC that knows how to call the right plays to win games though.

if we are dropping names how bout Mike Murlarky oc for the falcons, when he was in pittsburgh they referred to him as Inspector Gadget for the creative ways he found to get the most out of his talent
