And you know I saw this coming(but the cheerleaders deserve it).

I was hyping Clausen like crazy but alot of it was tongue and cheek. I didn't really expect him to come in and throw for 400 yards and 5 TDs every week as a rookie.

I thought he would eventually develop into a good QB down the road and I still do. I'm realistic, I know he's going to make the typical rookie mistakes and there are going to be growing pains.

But really, look at the situation he came into...

Outdated predictable offensive scheme...check.

Worst and most inexperienced WR corps in the league...check.

Horrible archaic playcalling...check.

Terrible OLine play...check.

Just to put it into perspective, he had better receiving threats, better protection and better play calling at Notre Dame than he does on his NFL team.

No rookie QB in the history of the league could come in and turn this mess around in 3 games. Nobody.

Agree 100%.

Once Otah gets back, some of the protection should improve. God, I hope so. Otherwise, Clausen's going to be done by the end of this season because he's just getting hammered.

This was far and away his worst game, but it was also the worst situation. I expected more out of him, and I'll continue to expect more out of whoever starts for us.

Until this game, I had been enjoying watching him play... but he just seemed to be running scared today. I hope that he realizes that and corrects it, plants himself, and gets some nice zip on some deep balls.

All we said was that Clausen was at least as good as, if not better, than Moore.

*shrugs*

Dunno if I feel that way anymore, but I did until today.

That's just the thing, too many people thought that, not just here but also the media, and wanted Clausen in there so bad, that I feel probably influenced Fox being in his last year with little to lose to just go with the flow.

However, it was just as retarded to judge Matt as a bust after the first 2 games of the season, considering his performance last year, as it is to judge Jimmy now after 3 games as a rookie. I am pretty certain we would have been better off for everyone in every imaginable aspect to keep Matt in there for at least half the season while letting Jimmy Clausen learn on the bench.

But by having these changes....it's f**ked up both QB's confidence, rythm, outlook and image not to mention completely screwed up this team and this season. I have a hard time believing we would still be 0-5 with Matt starting all 5 games and playing all the way through. We played some very winnable games. But now I have a hard time believing no matter who comes back under center is in any kind of mind frame to get us a W. Neither is the team.

Worst of all?

- I still don't think we have a definite answer on Moore because I feel he didn't get enough time to really be judged.

- Going back to Moore is just laughable now, but it's just as laughable to continue and let Jimmy play like he did today.

- It's just as laughable to go to Pike or AE.

- And it's unfortunate that now people ARE going to have a lot of questions about Clausen that would have OTHERWISE never even probably been brought up.

- Oh one more thing. There's probably some bad blood between the players on this team now.

Thanks a lot Panthers organization. Bunch of freaking monkeys.

this = truth

also matt moore threw 2 picks? turned off the game before they put him in but thats f**kin hilarious

we gotta go to clausen by default... hope he doesnt get shellshocked ala carr

Haha I like how you "fans" don't even watch the game then try to comment on specific players, making yourself sound like a donkey. If you don't watch the game, just be like everyone else and pretend you did and make up excuses as to why Jimmy is good or something. IF you watched the game and IF you had half a brain, those picks wouldn't bother you or even cross your mind as being bad plays.

Now what I want you to do is go back and watch the game. Wait until Moore goes in then pause. Take a deep breath. Watch the first pass. Pause. Think back all game and see if Jimmy did that once. Now watch the play where Moore throws the first pick. It's a blitz. Moore reads blitz. AE reads blitz. Moore stays in the pocket and gets the ball to AE a little low but Armanti gets his hands/arm on it. The ball bounces back towards the line of scrimmage where Urlacher picks it off. It could have been a better ball but it was in no way Moore's fault alone. Armanti is a receiver in this league and should be able to catch the ball. 90% of receivers in the NFL make that catch. Bears get a FG.

Next drive we are moving down the field. They are in a somewhat prevent and rallying up to make tackles on short throws. We get near the redzone with 14 seconds left. Game is basically over. 3rd & 10. Throw the ball up to your receiver and give him a chance to make a play. He doesn't. Even if he does your team still loses. If you throw the ball away or take a sack your team still loses.

Watch the game and tell me something different happened. I'll wait.

i used to like it back when people were arguing over if the panthers or good or if they were bad, but now it's like we're at arguing over why the panthers are just BAD

it's a real testament to the tailspin this franchise has been in over the last 5 years

this. It's a sad day in pantherland.

Doesn't Clausen have an injured right toe? I think i remember hearing this during the first week or so. I think he actually hurt it last year while still in college. Could this maybe, if so, explain the quick check downs and unwillingness to go down field?

Mostly true but it hasn't been 5 years... two years ago we were in the playoffs and Jake had his meltdown, and if not for Jake's bad play and Fox's inability to bench him last year, we might have done something then...

This year we just suck and it's sad... but it's not all the fault of ONE thing... it's all the things RnR said above and more.

I never thought Clausen would do much and I've said all along the biggest problem is the o-line because D-Will and J-Stew are the same as they have been, they just don't have anywhere to go.

I think they should keep Clausen in there as long as he's not gonna get hurt... and it's pretty much a given that Moore's gone after this season. I wouldn't mind seeing Armanti at QB if for no other reason than he is mobile and it would be fun to watch and what the hell, we can't do any worse than we already are and he may end up being something there.
