There is only one Coach that will keep butts in the seats next year

Winning also puts butts in the seats, gets media attention, and credibility. Cowher will get the Panthers off season attention but he's certainly not the only potential head coach capable of leading the team to a winning record.

Yeah, and we are not winning now and it is looking like we might not win a game ths season. The team has been decimated mentally. The fans are pissed and becoming Colts fans or whatever team.

I never said another coach couldn't come in and win. What I am saying is Cowher as coach means those butts never leave to come back later.

I am not necessarily for Cowher coming here. But the way things are playing out this season, it is making sense to bring him in. JR has pissed off a lot of fans. Even those that don't want Cowher here will watch. I really believe this has been the plan all along.

I thought JR didn't want to pay top $ for a HC though? Wouldn't he want BIG $?

Too bad there are some high roller teams that will be looking for coaches next year as well. You think Richardson would be willing to outbid Jones and the Cowboys for Cowher? Not happening.

We're getting a no name, the most we can hope for is a no name with a great offensive mind.

Well except for this year, so has Fox. We have never sucked this bad under Fox. Even Cowher had bad years...the Kordel Steward days ring a bell?..Tommy Maddox?

In the 8 years before this one Fox lead Panther teams have finished over .500 just 3 times. After this year it will be 3 times in 9 years. There is nothing respectable about that.

Bill Cowher and the Steelers had Tommy Maddoz and Kordell Stewart as starters for 6 years. 4 of the 6 years the Steelers finished over .500.

Cowher also went 3-3 in the playoffs with those QBs.
