Was he not worthy of the President title after winning GM of the year 2 years in a row? We would have gone to at least 2 more Superbowls if he had stayed with us instead of moving on.

I know some fans with more knowledge of inside operations might have an answer

Jimmy Irsay is really a money guy. Even though he liked his scouts, he knew that he was no judge of talent. He felt that he really needed a strong GM who could run the Indianapolis COLTS. He liked what BP did with the Bills and the Panthers. The ironic thing was that BP had said that he didn't have it in him to build another team. (3, really 4, times going to the Super Bowl with the Bills with 0 wins to show for it. The BP took on the Panthers and he turned them into strong contenders. (Possible winners if he had stayed!) NFC Championship game in only their second year?

There was friction with the Panthers front office for letting him run the team his way and hire the HC he wanted. Irsay promised BP free reign of the COLTS! Basically, Jimmy said to him, "I'll write the checks, you build a that Indianapolis can be proud of!

(What's that old C & W song. "I have the money, if you have the time?" or "If you have the time, I have the money!")

(I'm glad that Jimmy was smart enough to hire BP!) Sorry.

McCormick retired, Polian wanted his job/title, and Richardson gave it to his son.

What will break your heart is that there were strong rumors swirling about a trade for the number one overall pick between the Panthers and Colts at the time. Of course, if he had stayed we would probably have taken Leaf anyway, but still...

      I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.

      I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.

      Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
