Biggest position of need for the Panthers?

Well if we're going to build mostly through the draft, and stay away from major talent in FA, then we'll need to draft players who can start right away. Our current talent level is too low and inexperienced to have the luxury of drafting players who will sit out for a season.

With the number of young WRs on the roster, it seems unlikely we'll draft another WR. Some people want A.J Green, and maybe that's a possibilty, but I doubt it. We currently have two mammoth sized offensive linemen, Robinson and Otah, who would have made up the right side of our o-line. There is no guarantee that either of them will ever fully recover from their injuries, or that their careers won't be plagued by injury. Spending a high draft pick on a talented OT who can also play OG would be a good idea.

We really need to draft two good pass rushing DTs, and with no second round pick, that will be difficult.

Improving our offensive and defensive line will give us the best chance to win next season. Drafting WRs, or a QB wouldn't really change much next season, athough it could made a huge difference in the long run.

My hope is that Jerry will open up his wallet and bring in the top FA talent we need to drag our team out of the gutter. Then we won't need an outstanding draft in order to compete.

In my opinion we should draft Stanford QB Andrew Luck and hope that Clausen proves to be at least a good QB because a team needs at lest 2 good ones, especially if the NFL goes to an 18 game schedule.

In my opinion, this would also open up a trade possibility later on,if both Luck and Clausen proved to elite QB's.

I think Clausen is 6'2.

Clausen is listed at 6'2" 222 lbs-Matt Moore is lised at 6'3" 202 but Clausen looks at lot shorter (more than one inch) than Moore when they stand side by side.

So my guess is Clausen is not really 6'2"...Plus he seems to squat making his 3/4 release throws, thereby making himself play shorter than he actually is.

    • I mean, Brees was a sub 6' guy too(although they listed him as 6 foot). It is not a worry if you are an elite player. Even Flutie Flakes was able to succeed at the NFL level at his height. All QB's still need throwing lanes and different QB's play the game in a way that maximizes their abilities so they can be successful. All these sub-6 QB's we are talking about have had more NFL success that easily 80+% of 6-3 or better NFL QB's. That's why I keep beating this horse. It isn't about measurables, it's about abilities. That extends well beyond the QB position. Xavier Legette has elite abilities and measurables. Yet a slight little midget with no where near the athleticism is an infinitely better WR(McConkey). Jonathan Mingo is way more athletic than Puka Nacua. How is that working out? Never hyperfocus on measurables. It's a small part of a much bigger picture.
    • His legs looked limited in school to me. Good enough at that level but it never looked NFL level. All the guys you mentioned made Bryce look slow and limited. What propped him up was other non-NFL level guys on the field.  Absolutely on the 2nd part. That's becaude when he bails he doesn't have to ability to make it work more often. Lots of times this year and past teams let him scramble because they obviously didn't see it as a serious threat. Hell Payton was allowed to run because he was so slow and took off so infrequently. Bryce isn't that bad but he is closer to that than to Murray.
    • This.  Its not tennessee bad, but the Ole Miss offense is a very hard one to correlate to nfl.
