Wideout Production

So out of the expected 100 yards or less we manage to get from our QB-WR passing game this coming Sunday, how do you see the crew panning out with the recently acquired Thomas & Clowney?

Gettis: 4-49 yds

Thomas: 3-25 yds

Clowney:2-20

LaFell: 1-11

Edwards: Not sure if he'll be activated

The BIGGER question: Will we at any point this season have a receiver gain over 100 yards in a game even with Smitty back?

:cheers2:

Moore always throws for more than 100 yards.

Moore always gets the ball to Smitty.

He should make plays w/ Smitty out. The issue w/ Moore is just him avoiding negative plays w/ his positive ones.

Gettis/Thomas have the best 100 game odds b/c Moore can throw a deep ball and defenses are giving that play to be made.

Gettis will get a 100 yard game in this season, I am certain of it. He seems to get better each game.

Behind him, our next best receivers are running backs and tight ends. LaFell doesn't count until he proves to us fans that he can catch a cross pattern pass in traffic knowing that he is going to take a hit. He doesn't count until he can get both feet down on a catch where his hands catch the ball over the sideline, but both feet remain in bounds. After those achievements he will be a number 2 receiver.

The bigger question is when will Moore be pulled for Clausen again. Our Oline and play calling is such crap right now I have full confidants that the 49ers will get pressure and will cause Moore to throw at least 4 picks. Right now the likes of Payton Manning could not get one WR a 100 yards.

We do have to watch for Patrick Willis storming through the middle because he can put Moore in the dirt fast. But at least Willis plays on the Wharton/Gross side.

IF they do their jobs to the extent their pay requires, then we will beat them on the left side, even with Willis trying to break through.

I disagree. While any QB is going to have to eat some dirt......there are tons of plays to be made downfield. Our playcalling may suck but we still have one on one matchups at WR and they are getting open on the deep balls.

I have a feeling Moore might play pretty well, atleast hes somewhat exciting to watch at this point. Clausen isnt ready yet.

Moore can push the ball down the field, even if it results in INTS, maybe if he hits a few deep shots, it opens up our running game and we can take over if that ever occurs.

    • Option 2. Winning keeps the door open. Simple as that, just like with any QB. I don't care what the stats line is. I care about wins and losses. Gunslinger, Point Guard, Game Manager, Athletic Freak, Pocket Passer, Aging Vet... whatever. Get the win, keep the starting QB job. Do it consistently and stay competitive in the playoffs and you are, by definition a franchise QB. And those guys don't develop overnight.  It's all about the wins and getting to the playoffs.  Rings... well, those are rarer than people think.
    • I chose door number 3. I have to say, based on what i have viewed on videos from the team; they seem firmly behind him and I do not get the sense that they are ready to move on. For me as a fan, I want to see a large framed, big armed guy with some wheels who can tuck it and go to really stress that defense out. I enjoy that style of football, mistakes and all. Having said all that; Bryce young is my QB and as long as he is;  i am going to root for him.
    • I will say, regardless of the fan typologies, having all the fandom, swimming in the misery for this long will make the next SB level squad feel more special than any prior.  The mud in the NFL dungeon has hardened like a shell on this franchise.  Maybe we'll see a break out and give everyone a different playing field to babble in.
