Fox Isn't Worried About Employment, Distributes Blame, Stew Calls Out Offensive Line

Good read...

Denied a contract extension over the past two years, Fox is in the last year of his deal after the Panthers spent the offseason overhauling the roster and shedding payroll to become the NFL’s youngest team.

“I don’t think it matters if you have four years or one year and I don’t care if you’re a player or a coach,” Fox said of his contract. “I think in the times now we’re all well compensated.

“I don’t think I’ve ever really worried about having a job in this league. I’m not going to start now.”

While Fox has taken subtle shots at the roster-gutting earlier this season, he disputed Monday the claim the Panthers don’t have enough offensive talent to be competitive—even if statistics say otherwise.

...

“Did you see any holes?” Stewart said Monday, reluctant to talk. “As an offensive unit, we’re just not making enough plays. Point blank.”

And by no means am I a Moore apologist, but as I pointed out yesterday, that last INT looked to be on Smitty, although Moore shouldn't have thrown it...

But Fox was quick to point out miscommunication with the Panthers’ underwhelming receiving unit.

“There were some other areas that broke down on some of the interceptions,” Fox said. “I don’t think I can pin it on” Moore.

Haha I say this same thing and I have Mav and Dockery all over me, even after Dockery admitted to not watching the game. I'm going to PM you all of my thoughts from now on and have you post them and see if they get different responses.

Smitty homers will never see his flaws. Any time you bring up his attitude it is "always improving". His attitude has been improving longer than Vick has been learning the WCO, and that attitude is still poo. Keep that he has come a long way BS away from me.

The J-Stew line and the Otah line were the two most interesting things in that article.

He's right.

But this wasn't the way to address it :(

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
