Enough blaming everyone, who is actually to blame and why

I agree that another HC could have probably done a better job.

The talent is definitely there. As much as that phrase gets under the skin of some. Like the Cowboys are proving also though, just because you're very talented doesn't mean you're automatically a good team.

They need to play together as a unit, need to be in sync. Right now, they aren't in sync. The offense does not appear motivated at all this season. Who is it on? The players? The sheep aren't in charge of the sheep, the sheep herders are. Fox, Davidson, everyone else that is in charge.

Fox's fault that Jake threw 5 picks. Yup.

It is Fox's fault for being satisfied.

The same for Hurney.

The fact, there has been more than one chance for this team to get a true QB, Flacco was sitting there waiting.

But the Panthers where 'content' to sit and be average and never strive to be great.

This is QB driven league, and has been for most of Fox's tenure.

What you see now, is the result of the actions then.

That's John in a nutshell, 'content'. There is nothing innovative, there is nothing even smart about how he coaches.

The League has 9 years of tape on him now and when he plays lesser teams, he would win, better teams, he would lose. The number of times he's been out-coached in this league once there was tape on him is huge.

rar rar armanti edwards rar rar.

clausen was told during the draft he was the future of the franchise. hasn't been told it by anyone official since. think they're ever going to say it to him again? :P

there are so many huge problems in so many areas, it's impossible to pinpoint one person to play. I see nothing wrong with spreading it liberally... today was the most complete loss we've had all season, after all.

Well at least we achieved something today. Glad it wasn't a waste.

I kid. I have high hopes for him, but I don't think Fox, or the team, is behind him, so... good luck.

Why would that be? If true (and I have no reason to doubt you) that means the Panthers have a huge gap between the FO/Draft decisions and the Coach. Not good.

I think that the FO and coaches are behind Clausen and they all believe that he has a chance to be the future. Just that right now they are leary of playing him because of how bad this team is. Unfortuanately they don't have anyone to throw out there other than Moore just to be eaten by the wolves for a year or two until Clausen develops.

So with a situation like today you can:

A) throw Clausen into the game and let him get beat to poo and play poorly because the O sucks.

B) throw Pike out there and let him get beat to poo and play poorly AND cause questions to arise about Clausen because you didn't play him and he is your #2

C) put Moore's arm in a sling and tell him to cowboy the fug up and let him go out there and get beat to poo some more because it doesn't matter, he is probably gone after the year is over.

Of course the real answer townoholds the majority of the blame is JR for allowing a lame duck coach and giving no budget to your GM for much needed additions.

Of coursehurney is taking the blame. If he ever publicly blames JR he would be out of the NFL for good.

well, the whole benching him before the game was over bit is the main thing.

I wonder though if that doesn't have more to do with ruining his mind by forcing him to play with this poo-heap of an offense.

Its hard to say for me because I almost think that at this point they are just trying to protect the investment that they made in him.

    • More praise of Renfrow from Tim Weaver (formerly of USA Today's Panthers Wire, now SI.com), and also what I told some of you, my Huddle friends, from the start: keep it all in perspective, and don't conveniently---and perhaps unfairly, discount and label Renfrow as a JAG when it was a very debilitating illness affecting his play.    "It's understandable to be skeptical about Renfrow's abilities at this late point in his career. After all, he missed all of last season due to a bout of ulcerative colitis that also took a serious toll on his production in 2022 and 2023."   When Renfrow is healthy, he's an above average guy. Being 29 may hurt or help his chances depending upon perspective, but 29 for receivers generally means that there's still (sometimes plenty) gas in the tank. Renfrow also obviously has plenty of motivation and has come with his game face.   "Then agan, seeing is believing and by all accounts Renfrow has been very impressive since joining the Panthers a few months ago... Where Renfrow will fit in Carolina's new-look receiver corps remains to be seen, but at this rate it's going to be hard to exclude him from the initial 53-man roster." https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/hunter-renfrow-sick-route-panthers-training-camp Read the room, ladies and gentlemen. And don't get it twisted; Renfrow isn't the most talented receiver on the team, but we have seen his ceiling, when healthy, in a Raiders offense that wasn't necessary replete with talent. Consider what he can do, especially in the slot, in a Panthers offense primed with young talent (no pun intended). From sick to "sick routes," eh.
    • That is literally what I am talking about. Those were 53 man cuts. Not at the beginning of camp.  I would say the odds of Barno being back are extremely thin.
