Fiz's 7 point plan

Tavaris Jackson is the guy that can give you a poor mans Michael Vick that is a better passer. His last few starts before Farvre showed a lot of improvement as his decision making, arm and accuracy were on point. A small sample however.

I am not proclaiming him the second coming or anything..but I would roll the dice with Tavaris. He is still young and if a solid offensive coaching staff were here I say do it.

Kyle Orton would be the safest choice but I think he will actually command a lot of salary for the "Bubby Brister" type of production he will give a new team.

I like Pennington as a mentor but he may be good for two games tops...our O-line will get that guy murdered. That will scare a rookie like nothing else..see Matt Moore-Jimmy C. go in kid...SACK!

My plan is a little different. I say we fire Fox now. He showed insubordination during his postgame interview by blaming "the personnel people" for the product on the field. But really for all the years he got who he wanted what did he accomplish. He really does not have a leg to stand on. I was among the few that wanted him and Jake gone after the Cardinals playoff debacle. We need to move on.

1. Fire Fox and let him take his lame OC and other buddies with him.

2. Promote either Meeks or Skipper as interim coach.

3. Make a call to Kevin R. Wilson to see if he is willing to leave Oklahoma. Some folks on here have derided my choice for OC but look at the facts he helped develop Bradford and had a hand in developing Trent Williams of Oklahoma also.

The reason we need to make drastic moves is clear. We need to start installing new coaching to give them a head start on scouting and draft. Also what do we have to gain with keeping sour puss Fox and his idiot lackey Davidson.

Before the draft shop our assets. Dwill, Smith, Thomas Davis, and Marshall are all on the block.

At the draft i work the phones non stop to move down. Sell that we are going QB but actually be looking to trade down. Jags, 49er's, Redskins, and Seahawks are all in the market i think. Hopefully we can make a Browns to Jets type of trade for a 2nd and maybe a player or two. Just as an example lets say the Jags fall in love with Luck.

Ex. Jags trade up from 15 or so packaging maybe David Garrard and their 2nd round pick. At the Jags slot we can go with the top CB available, a WR, OL or DT. It gives us more flexibility. Then in the second we go with whichever we did not address. The compensatory pick for Peppers could be used on a guard.

Micheal Floyd, Marvin Austin and Marcus Cannon.

Robert Quinn, Curtis Brown, and John Moffitt.

Be aggressive in free agency and the draft. Dump the old guard. WIN BABY.

there is still no reason we shouldn't have locked up the WR position while there were 2 great receivers available..

If we have a top 5 pick and someone of REAL value isn't there, I would love to see us trade back, especially if we can grab a 2nd and still be in the 1st round..

all depending on where the value.. I just hate to see us reach with only a 1st and (possibly) two 3rds...

I'd love to see a Top 5 draft pick QB sit a year behind Orton but since when is the Panther organization competent with QB decisions???? We will prob draft a LB with the #4 pick

Hopefully not. The best thing JR could do is move quickly once Fox is fired after game 16.

I hope he has a new HC lined up the next day so a new staff and a draft day game plan can start being formulated immediately.

For us to have any hope this MUST be the plan.

    • Not exactly sure that is an honest assesment of the talent he had to work with that year. Olsen had over 1100 yards that season making the PB, Stewart had close to 1100 total yards also going to the PB. He had Kalil at C who went to the PB, Trai Turner at RG who also went to the PB, and Michael Oher at LT who played well enough that the Panthers offered him a new contract the following year. I wouldn't call that a trash OL. He also played with a defense that was stacked with talent as well.   "The thing we are doing better this time around is actually surrounding our #1 overall draft pick QB with talent vs. asking him to completely carry the offense. I just hope that effort is leading us to realize that the guy isn't even good enough to get carried." Please.... Did you not read the list of names Newton had to work with his rookie season. I guess you missed it so I will post it again for you... Steve Smith (PB), Greg Olsen (PB), Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn JR, Deangelo Williams (PB), Jonathan Stewart (PB), Jordan Grossn (PB), Ryan Kalil (PB) on the offensive side and then he had Luke Kuechly (PB), Jon Beason (PB), Thomas Davis (PB), Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short ( PB ),Charles Johnson, Greg Hardy (PB ), Mike Mitchell, Josh Norman (PB)  For comparison, here is who Young had his first year.  Chuba Hubbard, DJ Chark, Jonathan Mingo, Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, Ikem Ekwonu, Chandler Zavala, Bradley Bozeman, Nash Jensen and Taylor Morton. Not a single PB player on the list and most of them aren't even playing any longer. Additionally, his HC was fired during the season and the defense was as bad as the offense.  You might not like the comparison but saying Newton had to completely carry the offense isn't exactly fair to the 4 pro bowlers on offense who played with him that year.
    • That's why I say we have to keep looking. Even if you believe Bryce is the guy, KP and Grier are not and who knows if King is anything more than a gimmick player, we should be active in improving our 2nd QB spot. Season ending injuries happen, and you don't just want to roll over and give it up. How many starters have we seen come from the ranks of backup? Having 2 potential starting QBs is one of the best problems we could have.
    • Eh, it’s more on how bad the refs are. Some of these calls against the canes are no calls
