I need 5 gal. Buckets or Cat litter tubs w/tops

Y'all came through on the packing peanuts, I have another challenge!

Anyone near/around Charlotte have either 5 Gal buckets that they want to get rid of? I need about a dozen+, can't be broken or cracked as they need to hold water. I'm willing to pick up and clean out.

ALSO need them with the handles.

Lowe's and Home Deport are about the cheapest I found at about $3 per bucket and 1 dollar for the tops.

Anyone have an in with painters or sheetrockers. Or maybe you buy your laundry dtergent in bulk to save a bundle of money?

I know all of us on Huddle here recycle everything plastic right? :yesnod:

I can also use plastic Cat litter tubs:

Either this:tidy-cat-power-blend-lrg.png

But prefer these with the tops (Less cat litter of course!)

Or the square laundry detergent tubs w/tops or 5 gallon buckets. The square laundry detergent is the same thing as Cat litter containers.

Or anyone know of a food place or car wash that gets these?

Restaurants get their cooking oils and car washes get the detergents in something similar and most just throw them out.

I'm in need of about a dozen+ of them. Especially 5 gallon buckets (And tops if if anyone has them.)

I know some smart @** is going to say, "Go get them yourself you cheap skate!" But I'm trying to be Eco Friendly here and recycle them.

I got about 10 that are similar to the kitty litter buckets, but they are bigger, all with lids and handles in my garage. Come and get them!

I am curious as to what you plan on doing with them!!!

I need them to put dirt in. Really!

About a month ago I got into gold prospecting. Since my wheelchair isn't going into the water, I'm trying to buddy up with a someone. I figure he digs the dirt, then I run it through my equipment. Then we split the Gold 50/50, if we find anything. This will go alot better once I move into my new place, way more room. But I need buckets to fill with the dirt and tops so they won't spill all over the Custom Cruiser (my van.)

I panned about a 3 pound bag of dirt and ended up with a small Garnet and 15 flakes of gold. That was my first ever experience at panning. The piece of equipment I bought will probably yield more. I may not get rich, but I'm having fun trying! :yesnod:

Last night I went to a GPAA meeting (Gold Prospectors Association of America) of which I joined about a month ago. They have a Matthews Chapter. I had a blast and also won a 5 gallon bucket of dirt from Cotton Patch Gold Mine here in North Carolina. (Beginners luck!)

Hawk, tell me you're not in Philly.

    • He is a great guy but a horrible reporter. He makes my skin crawl when I hear his name. I heard that babies cry and dogs attack him when he enters a room. Other than that he is a good dude. Now go burn in hades u sum bit.
    • The job just really passed him by. He came up when basically you just needed to get three or four quotes, toss a couple of team provided stats in there, and stretch it out to column length. you got your copy in by 330, out the door by 4, then chill/shmooze the rest of the day. If you were really good you got a book deal. Every now and then you got to write an editorial. The goal of the profession was like Peter King where ostensibly you’re a beat writer for whomever but you get paid to just shoot the poo. now it’s a 24 hour job, you’ve gotta be social media savvy, the pace has increased substantially, you’re expected to produce more than ever, you gotta be able to look through bullshit etc. there’s still risk of industry capture where you just become a mouth piece. Sheena Quick is obviously shameless. I don’t think Newton ever aspired to be more than an inoffensive beat writer, but even that relatively simple role was just more than he was cut out for. its even worse when you’re covering a team that expects the Fourth Estate to act as a PR extension, or considers them on par with buying Twitter bots to promote Bryce. there were over thirty papers that covered the panthers first training camp. In that environment there’s room for boring guys like newton, and they may even be incentivized to push the boundary a little. But today that just isn’t the case and most of the guys are hanging on until retirement (person, gantt) or they’re good and gonna be matched up like Jordan. im not defending the current state of sports journalism, just saying that what counts as a meat and potatoes beat writer passed newton by. He’s retiring well past his sell by date, but that’s pretty common for his generation in general.
