Schefter on Luck/Panthers

With the QB situation as bad as it is in Carolina, and the possibility having the 1st Overall Draft PIck, do you think the Panther would take Andrew Luck if they have the opportunity?

Any team that has the first pick has to take Andrew Luck if he comes out, Stevie. The question is whether Luck will come out. No knock on Buffalo even though fans there will take it that way, but if a rookoie wage cap is implemented and you're Andrew Luck and you know you're going to Buffalo, is that going to make you more apt to return to Palo Alto for one more season? It very well might. Andrew Luck will get to see who has the No. 1 pick and decide whether he wants to go live and work in that city for the next decade.

Looks like there could be another Eli Manning/ John Elway situation...

he's got to strike while the irons hot. i can't see it getting much hotter than it is right now for him. if it gets any worse, teams will be intentionally losing to try and get a shot at him. at least this way he has a clue where he'd be going. if there is no football next year, then he'd have to rely on the lottery to decide his fate.

coming here wouldn't be as bad as going somewhere like buffalo/toronto or even staph city (cleveland). plus, what we've done here isn't all that far off from what he does at stanford. run heavy offense relying on big plays downfield...just not as sophisticated or well tuned as he's used to with harbaugh (i said that as a joke, but i think it's probably true).

    • The lack of discipline has seriously been our downfall the last month. Seems like we just went off course this last month and Lee won't address it. You can't just live and die by the 3 when you can attack the paint and at worst draw a foul
    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
