Andrew Luck Run

Watch his throwing highlights, then watch this video and tell me you don't want Andrew Luck with the #1 pick.

I don't normally get into future draft picks, but considering that he is 6'6", 240lbs, can throw the ball lights out and run like the wind with both speed and power. Plus, he went to Stanford so you know he has the ability to handle the mental part of the game.

If there is any consolation for this season, consider the opportunity to get a guy like Andrew Luck. We need a franchise QB to be competitive in the NFC South, and the Panthers have NEVER had an opportunity for a guy like this before...

I have heard the Andrew Luck talk all year, but now I have seen the evidence for myself and I am a believer. And I know I am not the first person to post this, but as someone that has attended every home game for the past 5 years, I need something like this to get through this season.

I hope Clausen shows promise over the next 6 weeks, but this franchise can not pass up an opportunity like this. Andrew Luck may be a once-in-a-lifetime type QB, and the Panthers should not pass this up even considering the other needs they have.

Does the possibility exist he may not be the best thing since sliced-bread? Of course, but every issue this team has will be made better with a franchise QB like this that can add 3-4 wins every season.

Look at our competition within the division. Every other team 2005 Saints, 2007 Falcons, 2008 Bucs were made better immediately when they drafted a franchise QB. Unfortanutely, I truly believe we will be on the outside looking in until we get a franchise QB. With a different coach/different offensive scheme we may have some success, but the only way to make the Panthers into a periennal contender is a franchise QB like Andrew Luck

I realize he won't run wild in the secondary at the NFL level, but having a big, talented passer who also poses a threat to run does not come along very offer.

Also the fact that he has an upper eschleon mental aptitude makes him someone to strongly consider. A lot of talented NFL scouts have him rated higher than Bradford or Ryan.

Obviously there are no guarantees he will translate his college success at the NFL level, but no one can dispute the impact a true franchise QB would have on this organization.

The Panthers have never had this in 16 years. Collins and Delhomme were close, but no there. The Falcons may just now have their first true franchise QB in 40 years. Same with the Saints and Brees. The book is still out on Freeman in Tampa.

But the truth is the Panthers need that type of QB to be competitive in our division for the long-haul, and Luck represents in my opinion the best chance to get there.

When he faced a good team in oregon he didnt look so well. He was picked off and didnt place the ball all that well in the game. With that said he is still a top pick

I wouldn't say he didn't look so well. He completed 29 passes for 341 yards and two TDs. Yes he also had two interceptions but if I remember right one of the picks was a tipped ball that bounced off the receivers hands.....

well...right at the end of the game it was thrown to the back of the endzone and had two defenders competing with the receiver for the jumpball and the duck came down with it. the first INT was just short of the receiver, but it was a pretty long ball that was thrown.

anyway...he did look pretty good that game.

    • The motto means nothing if they lay down and submit to the opponent. One of the most embarrassing things I have seen from twenty years of being a fan.  Regardless if the lead seems to be insurmountable, you keep giving 110% untill the final second. Canales is definitely a Beta and it wasn't a good look at all. I wonder what the locker room was whispering about after that sh%t. I hope we never see this again and he actually grows a pair of balls. He needs to look in the mirror and understand that you just don't do that in the NFL. Maybe peewee football so kids don't get hurt. Throw the 3rd stringers in to run the play and finish the game wirh some some pride and don't bend the knee.
    • No but we should have kept both of them. People complaining about what he got paid can’t say much now because it’s absolutely worth it to get 15 sacks which we could desperately use, especially when you compare it to some of the free agents we have signed to try to replace that production (none of them have come close and we are wasting good money on them)
    • That period started rough but the canes stayed with it.  They will when this game 3-1 or 4-2 the way it’s going.
