This crap irritates me

I saw my 10 year old niece posting on facebook a couple minutes ago and I asked her, "Aren't you supposed to be in school?" She said, "Ya but mama didn't wake up."

This seems to happen quite a bit with her. This means all 3 of the kids probably didn't go to school today. I think I should say something about it but we live in different states so I don't know exactly what goes on at their house.

She (my sister/their mother) complains one of them doesn't do well in school, well dammit get off your ass and take them to school and maybe she wouldn't have issues!

damn that sounds like she might be dead with the way she said it

and wtf is a 10 yr old doing on fb

and hell yeah, if that was my sister id definitely say something

That's what I was going to say. There is no way my 9 year old (10 next month) will get on FB anytime soon.

LIAG, you should say something to your sister. Tell her to quit being such a lazy ass and the kids to school. She can always nap while they're gone.

I know that was what I thought too. I don't really know how to explain how my sister is and be nice about it. She's had a hard life, she & her husband used to be on drugs pretty bad and lost her kids a few times. But now they are sober, have the kids back and is trying to have a better life for their family. But sometimes she doesn't do so well at it. She works 3 jobs. I try to not be so judgmental seeing that she is trying, but it's hard with the history she has.

But I think them not going to school is unacceptable. And I agree with the 10 yr old on fb thing.

My parents didn't get up either. I got myself up and dressed, then I took the damn bus to school.

Barefoot. In the snow.

both ways?

I did the same thing growing up. But parents are still responsible for making sure they get to school. I know mine would bust my ass if I didn't go. Unless I was sick or on my deathbed I went.

my dad was usually out the door before I got up.

made my own lunch too or my dad would just leave me some lunch money!

definitely got grounded for skipping school a couple times in high school. they were not cool with that.

Well, now I feel like poo.

My niece just told me they all, the whole household is sick and running fevers. But said she was feeling a little better after her mom gave them all medicine. This is why they aren't at school. I can only assume my sister decided to not even attempt to get them up this morning because she knew it would be a waste of time. I have done been there before.

Now that I think about it I remember my sis telling me they were sick.

I think I will call her in a little while anyway just to check on them.

I hate FB. My dippoo 17 year old niece posts every single detail of her life on there. On the flip side though, her dumb ass was posting on an MTV chat forum, I think it's called something like Single Teen Moms, and it was linked to FB, so it was posting all her comments back to her FB account. She said in her statements that she had an 8 month old and the father had just left her for another women, neither of which is true. So I posted under those on my wife's FB account "This is your uncle and I know you aren't claiming my kid as yours and lying to the whole damn world about it". About 10 people responded laughing at her and she removed the links like 30 mins later. I guess FB can be entertaining when stupid teenagers are lying about things and not realizing it's getting posted back on FB for everyone to see.

    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
    • When the broadcast showed the two benches side by side during the last TV timeout, it was pretty obvious the whole operation is a shitshow. If I was the owner, I would play that clip, with commentary, on the jumbotron at MSG as I fired the coach, GM, President, the whole lot. Bring in your AHL leadership team, wholesale, to finish out the season and start from scratch next year.  Can't fire all the players and fold the season. But, hopefully decapitating the zombie will light a fire under the body and burn out the cancer of the roster. (It makes sense if you don't think about it...) There are obviously issues on the roster. But, you can't have the entire coaching staff completely tuned out with 5 minutes left in a 2 goal game this early in the season. And you can't trust the people that hired them to hire the next staff. If you trust your AHL GM/Scouts, let them run the deadline firesale.   ...     Please don't let the owner read any of this. Because, this poo is hilarous!
