Fuel will always be a concern.

There's always a give/go. Balance of power/speed/fuel efficiency. I'd have to say...hmmm...probably that stormchasers vehicle someone posted a picture of. Made to withstand high winds so glass is tough. Quick enough to avoid major groups. Semi-fuel efficient compared to Strykers, Bradleys, or other larger AFVs. No ability to just mash a bunch of zombies, but that's where speed comes into play.

Bikes can travel at 2x to 20x the speed of a zombie.

Bikes never run out of gas

Bikes are easy to fix

Bikes make no noise.

Also they can be run off of kerosene without mods so you have more fuel options.
