uggh. what the hell.

seriously. as someone who is one of the biggest Jimmy Clausen supporters on this board, just stop. stop already. just let him play. no amount of stats parsing will do you any good at convincing ANYONE of ANYTHING when it comes to Clausen.

Kinda crappy seeing as how neither of them were really given a chance to play and get settled into the role. Concussion to Moore...Clausen goes in...Concussion to Clausen..Moore goes in again and gets jacked in the shoulder.

When will people stop drooling over Luck's nut sack long enough to see that neither of the SEVERAL QB talent we have on the roster have had anything to play with? As I said before in a thread that was deleted..none of them have been given a fair chance to play and develop..and even if they were allowed/able to be in for more than a 2-3 game stretch, the O-line cant protect them, they have very few VIABLE receivers to throw to, no veteran QB to apprentice under, play calling that is as predictable as the sunrise tomorrow morning...and yet what we need is yet ANOTHER rookie QB????? Tibow was the hot QB in the last draft and I ask you all...what has he done this season???

I'm all for a promising team but I would rather use that possible #1 draft pick to draft a big stout O-lineman who can affect both pass protecting AND contribute to opening holes for our fairly decent run game. Drafting yet another ROOKIE QB who looks like the hero from 300 (THIS IS SPARTA) when hitting a 180lbs college CB(certainly not the NFL) is only adding talent to one dimension of the game, whereas securing up the O-line adds something to both the pass protection AND run game. Imagine if you are the new coach coming to this team next year...are you going to want to draft ANOTHER rookie QB and rest your first year of the new career on him, or perhaps get a FA QB with experience to start and teach him, or perhaps use one of the other QB who might be left over who have at least some report with the team and system?

Sick of hearing about Luck...my god some here talk about being loyal to the team and yet sell out a rookie QB and drool on his replacement not even halfway through the season before any of them have had a chance to develop. Now I am beginning to understand why I hear the phrase "wine and cheese fans"..it not only applies to folks at the stadium but some of the wallflower folks in this forum who blow over at the slightest breeze.

Everyone who belittled this thread completely neglected the fact that both Moore and Clausen have almost identical targets.

The main problem is not he QBs, it's the play calling.

No, playcalling has always been an issue. It isn't a bigger issue this season than it was last season.

QB play is a HUGE problem. Plays have been there to be made all year....just like any other. Sure, no doubt playcalling doesn't make life easy on a QB but the excuses need to stop for Carolina QBs. There is a reason a bum St. Pierre has an 80+ yard TD bomb in 1 start off the couch. Teams don't respect the pass and plays are there (and have been)......Moore flat out missed a lot of those throws that would have really hurt opponents......and Clausen isn't trying to hit them.

And yet St. Pierre still threw 66.6% of his passes under 10 yards...

Clausen is at 77% on the season. Clausen is consistantly doing it at a much greater extreme.

St. Pierre has 1 game.

This is true, so I am going to monitor this for the rest of the season to see if there are any improvements.

For the record I really am not trying to talk up Clausen, I just do not think it's as black and white as it seems.

    • I mean, you probably should've waited after the season is over before "going there," that way we we'd have four more games of comparison and discussion. Don't get me wrong, I occasionally go out on a limb, but Bryce just had his best game and has given people hope (which could realistically be false hope), and Shedeur just doesn't have that many games under his belt (even if he does look promising), one of them being against the Titans. No harm in being patient and letting things play out.  If you noticed, Tepper seems to be taking a wait-and-see attitude, and he didn't mention Bryce in the clip in the other thread. I'm still highly skeptical of Bryce (and glad that Sanders has shown an ounce of success), but the reality is that we have to let things play out. The Sanders train left long ago (if it was even here). But,there are more realistic options if Bryce turns back into a frog.
    • imagine thinking that talking about our next opponent is "gassing up" someone.... and then lying about basic info because it's not flattering to the league's worst starting QB since he arrived.  as a starter he is 2-3 (just a fact) as a starter vs Bryce this year pass yards per game - Shough rush yards per game - Shough comp % - Shough  QB rating - Shough yards/per attempt - Shough and Shough is only good for a 2nd year rookie thrust into the gig on a bad team.   He is getting graded on a curve of what he is.  And he won the last head to head vs us, and looked like the best QB on the field that day.   there are a billion red flags when it comes to Bryce Young.  This is just another.
    • Imagine gassing up a 2-4 QB for a terrible division rival with stats worse than our QB in every category except raw yards per game
