If you didn't realize today that our biggest need is for a stud DT...

QB,QB,QB.... this team needs a QB. We can debate whether or not Clausen may or may not be a servicable QB in the future; and this season sure even a better one probably would not do to well on this team. There are definately other holes and problems....... BUT if this franchise is in the #1 slot and Luck is all people say he can be you pick him. If not in the #1 spot and Mallet, or Cam Newton or some other QB has franchise potential the Panthers need to draft one. They have ignored the position way to long despite the attempt this past draft. Bring in a Vet then let the new guy and Clausen fight it out. Address the other holes and issue through free agency and remainder of the draft. (this is though were it sucks not having that high early round 2 pick.)

...then you are a casual fan...

This is followed very closely by OL that can block and not get beat every single snap, and then a solid #2 WR that can get open and catch passes that hit him in the hands and face while in the endzone...

Seattle beat the hell out of us, right up the gut, in the second half... Almost every single time they took it up the gut, between the tackles, they ripped off at least 5 or 6 yards... You can thank perennial Pro Bowl selections Nick Hayden and Derek Landri for that... I don't fault Hardy as much on the end because he is a rookie playing beside high schoolers... Charles Johnson can't do it by himself...

All this talk about Luck is dumb when we have way bigger issues... I'd like to see any rookie, or seasoned vet for that matter, come in and complete passes when he has approximately 3 seconds to make a read before someone has penetrated the backfield... Until we fix OL and DT, our QB and defense in general will continue to be worn down/beat up, game after game...

Ha!!!! to call someone a casual fan because they do not agree with your logic is laughable to me!!! LOL!!!

What teams consistently make it to the playoffs year in and year out??? Answer: Teams with great Qb play.... not teams with great DT play.

Yes DT could arguably be the worst position on our team, but it is not the biggest need.

Fact: You need to score points to win in the NFL... what we are not doing this season.

Fact: Our defense has played good enough to multiple games this year... our offense has not

Fact: A better offense makes for a better defense. If the offense is sustaining longer drives it keeps our defense off the field and players better rested. If we build a lead with our offense it helps make the opposing offense one dimensional and allows our defense to do more.

Fact: A lot of people believe Luck is the best QB prospect in a long time.

Fact: There is a reason QB's are usually MVP's.... it's because it is the most important position on the field to win games. When our QB play is lacking you do not pass up an opportunity for luck if you have it... It's a rare chance you get..

Also if you put the best DT in the league on our team we may have won 1 more game... give us the best qb and we are at least 4-5 wins better. So to me only a causal fan would say a DT is the answer to all of our problems.

The offensive woes are corrected by ridding ourselves of Fox/Davidson, and getting an OL in here that can block on both passing and running downs (just lately have ours started opening running lanes)... QB isn't the issue most of you are making it out to be, and I'm not even that big of a Clausen fan while saying that...

You are wrong...

We can draft/sign QBs all day and night, and none of them will succeed with the team around them... as evidenced by the 4 we have played at various points this season...

Next argument...

Man I hate when people dismiss another person as if they somehow put the subject soundly to rest.

if pike, clausen, st. pierre and poo moore can't succeed, then NO ONE can
