Like it or not, Clausen isnt the reason.

SLJ, (or Urious... why the hell did you change your SN?)

Clausen may be a rookie but some of the things he does and for that matter doesn't do are unacceptable in my view. I'm not saying give up on the kid but if he doesn't improve by the end of the offseason then he is done here.

What you mentioned absolutely must be improved yes, but players should make plays sometimes even when the situation around them is giving them a disadvantage akin to the one Clausen has this year. He is not making those plays.

Did you not see the play where he stepped up in the collapsed pocket and made an epic throw yesterday?

Did you not see the long play to Smitty last week?

He CAN make plays if given the opportunity, which we don't do more often than not...

Our entire passing offense the past few years has relied on a successful ground attack (which was absent this year when it counted) and chunking up prayers to Steve Smith... Teams corrected their ability to defend against said offense, and you get what we see every Sunday...

I will grant that he has made a few plays, but for instance the one where he stepped up into the pocket was such a large standout because it is something he should be doing much more often and is standard fare for an NFL QB. The fact that we can point out "the play where he stepped up" is not a good indicator in my opinion. You do have a point here though.

That said the OL is a major issue impacting him I realize, but I still expect something out of him. He isn't Aaron Rodgers but look at what Rodgers has done with a terrible OL.

what part of when it counted do you not understand? lol

teams now just get a couple TDs on us and then sit back and rush the line every time... even I could rip off a couple big runs against that kind of defense...

lol if big run u mean a 5 yard sprint resulting in an asthma attack suree

the pass to Smitty was standard Clausen. He will throw to the sideline on his first read if he has single coverage......other than that it is Captain Checkdown or scramble.

the Atl game was not the norm in regards to rushing the past 5 weeks. They have been running well and it has evenly distributed w/ the exception of Sunday.

The same bad OL play made Jake look about the same, and many here still want him to be our QB...

The difference is that Clausen is a rookie and you threw him into the fire...

At this point, our best hopes lie in either getting Luck or Newton, signing a veteran to come in and be a leader/help groom the young guys, and continue on with Clausen for at least another year if Luck/Newton cannot unseat him...

If you throw either Luck or Newton in the same equation, the result will still be the same until you improve the OL, the play calling, and get WRs who are receivers... not glorified blockers...

EDIT: Also, the other team can't win if they don't score points... We need to tighten up our run D, and our coverages to help that out... (not saying use the #1 pick on it either, or any pick for that matter... just saying it is a need too)...

the OL play wasn't the reason Jake threw picks in 09. Jake is just done and that is why he is still doing it today. Nor was it the problem w/ Moore. Moore just made dumb throws. The reason the team was so different in 09 was that Moore played well at the end of the year.

Clausen is just playing horrible.

again, there is a recent example of Sunday in the KC game. Horrible QB play can kill everything and make the OL/RB/WR look horrible.

Sure, OL isn't playing great. Bad QB play is bad QB play. Clausen isn't even playing like an undrafted rookie.

Its not that we lose games... Its not that Clausen is not putting up huge numbers. He is a rookie and its not what I expect.

But the problem his he is showing nothing. Look at Stafford last year, Lions lost a lot and he did not put up huge numbers.. But he de have moment. He did have make you believe in him both on and of the field. Clausen has showned NOTHING of that.

So no its not all Clausens fault. But that is not the point. The point is he is not showing my anything that would make me believe he is the furture.

I still fail to see how incompletions and sacks are all Clausen's fault... I think this is just another example of people developing hate for a player and piling it on...

Jimmy panics at the first sign of pressure....he did it at ND and he is doing it here.

He rolls out to the right to get closer to the sideline.....makes that throw out of bounds that much easier.

What I hate the most about this is that when you see him scramble toward the sideline you know the play is already an incomplete pass almost every time.
