4 games with Moore: 21 catches 276 yards 2 TDs

8 games with Jimmy: 20 catches 239 yards 0 TDs

So all of the sudden Smitty can't get open? All of the sudden his targets get cut in half? All of the sudden he can't find the endzone?

Child please.

Don't know where you are getting those numbers, but Moore has played in more games than that, and Jimmy came in for cleanup duty in some of the ones you are counting for Moore...

I'm not saying it is Smith's fault either really... I'm saying it isn't solely Clausen's... lol...

Those four games were where Moore played the majority...NYG, Tampa, SF, STL. Moore appeared in the NO game but not long. He also appeared in Chi but Smith did not play that week.

Clausen played in:

Cincy

NO

NO

TB

CLE

SEA

ATL

I did make a mistake though, Clausen didn't play the BAL game and Smith had 4 for 46 in that game so I must subtract those from Clausen's numbers.

I was wondering how you had Smith with such good numbers in the previous stats with Jimmy, lol... It wasn't adding up to what I had...

To be fair to all involved, Jimmy has had more of a ground game than Moore did...

Which should help him hit Smith.

It's funny how the arguments change to apologize for Clausen's ineptitude.

First he didn't have a run game lately. Now the run game is too good lately that's why he can't get his best play maker involved.

The bottom line is that Jimmy isn't getting it done no matter which way you look at it. Those numbers are hard proof that it's not Smith who has fallen off.

I've never disagreed that Jimmy isn't getting it done...

I just don't discount the numerous other problems the team has that contribute to his failures...

and it's not just about Smith, either - it seems the only receiver that Jimmy hits with anything seeming like regularity is Lafell.

I think this is just another way of showing that he is not able to get the ball down the field with regularity, because those are the routes that we have seen Gettis and Smitty excel in.

I would like to see what Gettis, Lafell and Smith could do with consistent quarterback play. Could you imagine if our passing game could be anywhere near as good as it was against san fran with any regularity?? Our offense would be so much more enjoyable to watch.

I think it's fair to say that there are two main problems with our Offense right now, Jimmy and the OL.

Earlier in the year Jimmy/Matt had the excuse of no run game, unproven receivers, bad Oline, etc

At this point in the season we've seen Smith can still play ball, Gettis and LaFell are both promising and are capable of big games (SF for both of them), our run game is back on track so we're only left with OL and Jimmy.

It's kind of the chicken and egg thing with that so it's personal opinion but like has been shown before (I think in the weekly rookie report) Jimmy isn't getting pressured as much as we like to think he is (some people exaggerate it to every and even when he isn't pressured he isn't producing.

I don't even like arguing about it anymore but you tried to put the blame on Smitty when literally none of it belongs on him at this point.

well having a sack per every 10 pass attempts seems to be a lot for being pressured.

I agree but a lot of people made it seem like he was getting pressured/sacked after 1.5 seconds of dropping back every time. That simply isn't the case.

Also, Jimmy doesn't really help the Oline out with movement in the pocket.

When Goodson missed that block on the left side/right DE Clausen just stood there and stared at him and didn't move or try and get rid of it. He looked him square in the face the whole time it was weird.

Chicken/Egg

Still doesn't explain the lack of production when he isn't being pressured though.
