I'm a big fan of Harbaugh. Watching Stanford this year it's clear that they are a very physical run-first team which suits JRs/Hurney's philosophy. But he also clearly has done a great job developing young QB's (badly needed here obviously). Taken Stanford from 1-11 to 11-1 in a couple of years. Whether he would want to come here is another question. The guy could probably have any college/NFL job he wanted.

we still would need to find a good WR coach.

Pep Hamilton has experience on their staff, James Lofton isn't in coaching anymore but seemed solid (name recognition or not) with SD and OAK.

either way wouldn't matter a tenth as much as what we did on D.

I think that harbaugh will be very selective about which jobs he takes. I think SanFransico and Michigan are interesting, I think we have the most to offer. On the NFL chan. a few minutes ago, they were debating that Houston and San Fran would be the two jobs that most people want. I just dont think that anyone could convince me that we are several pieces away from being good as a team. I think we can address a lot of needs with Free Agency. If we could target just one or two players I would look for Haloti N. and Mankins. I think that automatically shores up both of our lines. I might also look at addressing CB in FA. I dont think that anyone can sell me on giving up the first pick or not drafting Luck if he comes out in the draft.

I know you're in favor of keeping the current staff, but I don't know if I see it happening.

an experienced coach would definitely not keep the current staff.

Plus, some of the shine has come off that. In the end I'm really only concerned with staying 4-3.

I'm more worried about Grimm wanting to go that way than Harbaugh. He's been with 3-4 teams for quite a while now.

I know Fangio's done well at Stanford, but up till this year Harbaugh was all 4-3.

and Ron Rivera can check another box on his resume. his Defense is lights out (even w/o "lights out")

They continue to be #1 in yards allowed, but points allowed is a much more telling stat. The Bolts are 11th in points allowed going into tonight. There offense is indeed 2nd in points scored.

There is a reason they are 8-6 and don't have a better record like the Pats, Giants, Jets, Falcons, Saints, Ravens, Bears, Steelers and Packers who all give up fewer points per game.

Careful who you hand the Head Coaching position to.

      You said the team goes limp-dick in the playoffs because RBA won't change. (Note that you did not suggest what changes you think he needs to make). You then stated "Rod will never change anything." I can only infer that the team continues to fall out of the playoffs because RBA doesn't/won't change. Therefore, if RBA will never change anything, the team will fall out of the playoffs. I mean, that is literally the line of logic you posted. So, I'm not sure what you're suggesting, since I don't have a crystal ball.
